I just met an MR member on the street in front of my place to give him Phyto, Pods, Mysis, Gorg / Seafan Frags and Caulerpa. As I was walking into my building after pulling each bottle out of the cooler to show the member what was in it someone ran me down.

They were in plain clothes so I thought someone needed directions or had a question about my building. I was quite surprised when a badge was flashed and I was questioned about the contents of the cooler I just gave away.

Now you would think there was an easy resolution right? Not so fast. I could not put into words the fear, confusion and embarrassment that hit me all at once when I had to explain to him what was in the cooler, specifically the water bottles he saw. It crossed my mind to come up with a lie but I couldn't think of anything quick enough. I caved and said it was “phytoplankton”. PHYTOPLANKTON!!!! How is he supposed to know what the hell that is? He looked perplexed of course. He had to ask me again because he received an answer he did not expect.

In the end he seemed mad at me because he said "You know what that looks like in this neighborhood right?" I honestly could not give him an answer because I'm assuming he thought it was drugs and I'm not experienced enough to know what drug would be held in a water bottle.

Money was exchanged so I know he was just doing his job. I love the NYPD especially for what they go through on a daily basis and what I saw firsthand on 9-11. He probably thinks I'm nuts :) Made for a funny story though.

Be careful. Keep those "reef" deals out of sight! :lol2:

Well if you think about it I did have a big clear plastic container filled with green caulerpa. That could look suspicious. He took me for my word though. He could have run down the other guy and made a bigger deal out of it.

Well ill never forget when someone on this board(not going to name names) brought a ziplock bag full of salt to a bar... He said he was stopped twice on the train.. And we were CERTAINLY getting a lot of looks in the bar.

One of the first frag swaps was in the back of the bar and believe me people gave us strange looks. I dont blame them, people coming in with big coolers and exchanging money.

:irked::headache:
that comment has to be the most ignorant one I've heard in a long time.
I'm sure you have vast experience in police work and procedure and intimate knowledge of the crime situations in Dom's nieghborhood
I jumped from helicopters to rescue people, I searched the hulls of foreign freighters for drugs, swam in **** to recover evidence all because I wanted to feel almighty

for the record NYC police offers carry "SHIELDS" to ID themselves, train conductors, fireman and sanitation use "badges" to ID themselves

Duke, if it was really OJ u shouldn't have payed the fine. Something else must have happened. Or there was a reason why a cop stopped u drinking OJ. Was he pissed or something when he came up to u?

Anwyays, im not surprised dom got off without anything bigger happening like him getting thrown in jail or soemthing. If you met or know dom he's not the wanna be badass that has to mouth off or cause trouble for no reason, which is usually the reason cops give people a hard time and give them silly summons. Other than probable reason to or some other factor.

duke, that wasn't aimed at you at all btw, the thread got me thinking of a friend who was always in trouble for something or other, always dressed like he was causeing trouble and always mouthed off like he was better than anyone else.

lol...
"yo...whatcha need....i got the goood sh*et"
that would be a stupid drug dealer to sell drugs in front of the building or inside the lobby like nobody will notice...and most likely the guy buying the macro will lift the bag up and take a look at it...
its more funny when they cop instantly though it was drugs...

hey dom...when i come pickup the pods...we gonna have to meet up in your stairway...

im happy the cops are doing thier job but i know they hate it when thier wrong

nypdfrog so what does that mean u ignorant sob cause your in a neighborhood everyone is bad..f procedure im sure your the same cop that believes people are guilty before proven innocent..and just for u braggin what u have done makes me believe u feel almighty..u know what please dont remark to what i say anymore .u for some reason want to start trouble with me.im given an opinion that i saw everyday living in brooklyn and yes i was even beat up by officers when i was a kid kicked in the nads thrown in a patty wagon and was beat up a little more.for mistaken identity.so i can give a damn about procrdure.i dont know if u were brought up in the city or jersey but where i was from i dealt with that crap for a long time.and to hear that a man yes a man not a thug or known drug dealer is confronted in front of his door and is questioned for no reason gets me upset.and i still respect cops for what they do to the fact of 911.so if you dont like my comments remember you began by insulting me.

you are a piece of work I read all the BS you post here
from your political views , your bitching about the economy how you
money is tight for xmas presents yet you buying **** for your tank
save it...
your comment was ridiculous and ignorant
as far as bragging your dam right I was a decorated cop, I risked my life on several occasions and was awarded an honorable mention for the work I did at flight 800 and on 9/11

I never sat home and collected unemployment, never milked an injury
and certainly never complained I got a raw deal
