Technically true! I didn't want to rub it in. Historically from my perspective, I only "count" championships I personally celebrated ('77,'78, '96, '98, '99, 2000)

I love bashing Boston almost as much as I enjoy talking about the Yankees. But I agree, how could they let the Yankees sign the top 3 free agents without making a move? They did well last year, so I assume they feel their team is good enough already.

i totally agree with wes. IMO this thread was an attempt to bash Yankees but the Muts are guilty of the same thing. Take a look at all the big names they signed the last few years. Beltan, pedro, johan, wagner, delgado, etc..... I thinks its funny they needed to bring a yankee( willie randolph) to show them how to win. Not his fault mets choked .

You're 100% correct. In NLCS game 7 where the Mets were losing, in the bottom of the 9th, with the bases loaded, with a full count, and with the entire country knowing a curveball was coming, Beltran (the Mets highest paid player) looked at a pitch right over the plate thus ending their season. They haven't made the playoffs since.

i am not a fan of any of the above teams, but i truelly can't wait for them to cap baseball, as far as the mets trying to buy a championship, well you have to really spend, { like the yanks do } look at what the second and thrid highest paid temas payroll is compared to the yanks by themselves, all i can say is go COLTS, PACERS. SINCE WE DONT HAVE A PRO BASEBALL TEAM
