Do you guys understand what $20 can get for someone who works behind a cash register? Dont be so quick to call that person cheap. They could have walked out and never returned. Of course a $100 is alot better.
A hug wont put food in your tummy or gas in your car. Perhaps a shirt on your kids back. I'll take the $20 and a hug :hug:

I actually talked to the women (cashier) and she said it was mostly embarrassing because other people were bothering her about it. She would have preferred nothing in return.

I agree, the $20 was a pretty bad insult. Give at least $100.

I'm also in the 8% tip group. If you calculate the 8% on the receipt, they know you're just saying they suck. No need to steal from the (crappy) server, they did take your order and (eventually) bring your food. No need to take their money, nor any reason to give them yours.
