dont get nervous, the prices will not stay this high for long.
the higher the price rises, the lower the demand - being energy efficient becomes more worthwhile as well as alternate energy sources (hybrids are a good example).

This has absolutely nothing to do with the great Mayor Bloomberg, he does not make any money when you pay higher gas prices, OPEC does. Our gov't is actually pretty good with gas taxes, you should see the prices people are paying around the world.

You want cheaper gas? that would require cheaper oil - and for that you must increase the supply, either by drilling in Alaska for more oil, or by conquering Saudi Arabia and make it a state (but we'd run the risk of turning many terrorists into US citizens).

Katrina had a big impact on the oil refiners and that is what spiked the price. As they get rapaired and come back on line, the price should come back down.

oh, and the guys in detroit will have a lot more car sales now to replace all those destroyed in the hurricane/flood.

well, don't be surprised when they raise that tickey my friend - bet it takes less than 6 months.

tickets are great, it allows the city to better enforce the law and acts as a source of revenue (better to raise the funds from tickets than from taxes which affect even the law abiding citizens - not to mention they are more easily avoided by the crooked)

guess you dont drive a comm van often ,,,ok ,,lets see ,,i pay 3000 insurance on my van cuz its comm....cant park after 9 pm on the streets ,which means when you need a plumber after 9 it cost you over 125 cuz i get ticket
and pay 1300 yr for parking my van ,not to mention the 120 bux or so to fill my tank up that lasts me 3 days .
i think ticket should go down ,and the state should get tuff on bad driver (give them tickets on the license),one way is to take a driving test in the city ,if you can drive in NYC then you shouldnt drive in ny ,,JKING ,,,lol

you want cheaper tickets so you can park illegaly - there must be a reason for that law, if there isnt then the law should be changed.
as far as all those things, it is part of the cost of doing business. be happy you dont have to pay an expensive rent for the business.
p.s. why not park in the customer's driveway? thats what they do when the come to my house.

park illegaly ,,no just park at a normal distance with tools that alll,,,i cant see the reason why i pay more in insurance .cant park after 9 out side ,so yes cheaper ticket so i can park illegaly if that what you call it ,is ther an explaintion why we pay top dollar for comm cars ,i dont know yet ,but that what i have to do to work ,
but like i said ,as long as prices go up ,my prices as a plumber go up as well ,and we are expensive to start with

I don't see too many driveways in NYC.

higher gas prices + more tickets = higher prices for goods and services.
