If I did have dogs, it would definitely be poodles. A brown one, a white one, and a black one. I would name them Bon Bon, Maribou, and Jet.

I love dogs, but not small dogs. (And I don't mean puppies.) To me these "decorative" dogs are waste of a dog! Unfortunately real dogs need room and NYC apartments don't have enough of it. So I'd never get a dog for an apartment.

I am, however, planning to adopt a cat (probably from North Shore Animal League) early next year. I've decided I wanted a pet I can pet! Any advice on a new cat is welcome!

PM Lissa (ellebelle) or Jon Hale, both have the address of the list that shows cats & kittens that will be put down within the next week..those are the ones that need adoption first!

The ones at 'North Shore Animal League' will be well taken care of, not put down and 'sold' - though they like to call it an adoption fee...

Please go to a real animal shelter where these great animals (cats & dogs) need to find a home fast.

Two of my dogs, and cats came from NYCAC!! One of my dogs, and the cats from the one in Brooklyn on Linden Blvd., and one of the other dogs from the SI one.
Please do adopt from the kill shelters if at all possible. There is a fee, but it is well worth it. You get spay/neuter, first shots, and a free vet visit.:hug: And you get to save a life, or two.:flower:

Is NYCAC a kill shelter?

One thing they mention on their web-site is to bring my landlord's contact info. My landlord does not live in the building and the management company does not visit apartments. I'm not sure if I'm technically allowed to have any pets at all. They'd never know...unless the agency calls my landlord!
