How do you have the density? on high density streets or avenues?

Yeah I have a crazy high land value from parks in about 90% of my R area.

You want to control your parks so you have medium and low for the majority of your city. Use the RCI to balance it out. Otherwise you will have too many high wealth sims and not enough low/medium wealthsims. Click the population number and it gives you a tab you can click showing you how many jobs you have available, how many are filled, and how many of one class of sim you have. Its better to be short on workers than workers without work. Theres another bug in regards to that too. Ind/com work perfectly fine with 1-2 workers even if they need 1500.

Most of my first city is high density streets but I haven't been able to get far into the 3rd density tier.

I haven't seen many bugs that I would consider game ending but I have noticed that my big city will sometimes show a surplus of power/water and still act as if there is a deficit with buildings shutting down. Plus the whole water drying up thing is a pain, especially since my city is surrounded by water.

http://kotaku.com/5990362/with-simple-ai-like-this-why-does-simcity-need-cloud-computing

I am starting to agree with Tosiek. After playing more, my city infrastructures are breaking for no reason.

I build 4 parks around this on R square block and they were still crying the area needed more parks. And it's annoying tourists are just mindless AI and will only go to places right off your city entrance. Plus since I started my own area, my tourist rate is nothing since the region is empty.

Lame.

Regional play is lagged and broken at the moment. Its pretty much just 16 different solo playing cities. If you get lucky and your on a server where money/services are transferring then your RCI demands don't and vice versa. Pretty much your region is pointless unless your feeding a great works site because that's what works.

Apparently you don't have to provide your sims with any of those demands Matt. They will move in and grow anyway. Think the only thing thats needed is the basics, fire/water/garbage/sewage and jobs.

Also, there's a big problem with the game that people are starting to realize. The glassbox engine was overhyped and when they said that the simcity servers are processing all the information so your computer doesn't have to they lied. Your computer processes most of the information for the sims, the servers are just dealing with region play information sharing and cloud storage and they can't even get that right. You can disconnect your internet and play perfectly fine minus the region stuff for over an hour before the game disconnects you. Of course you can't save anything because everything is cloud based so you would lose any progress.

Quite sad, this was their main selling point. That the game was so advanced that it needed to be computed on a server somewhere. "Each sim is calculated and simulated on a cloud based server" and some info was leaked that they only calculate 8-10% of your population and guesstimate the rest of your population based on those sims.

I stopped playing until they fix the game.

i managed to get on one of the servers last weekend and play for a few hours.....its ok...
im a huge simcity fan and was very excited to play, but it took forever to get on.
the always online thing is dumb and the no "undo button" is pretty dumb also.
im going to give them a few more weeks to iron out all the problems before investing anymore time into the game. there are waaay too many bugs
following all the "nerd rage" on the internet blasting EA has been more entertaining than the game so far.

Cmantis just buy yourself simcity 4 or cities XL.

I have to say though, I disagree with the traffic issue. Their video example is very limited, and while yes, it is broken that cars only take the shortest route, with a full mesh of roads and every sim going to different places, I dont see it as a major issue, but an issue none the less.

ALSO, You have a 16 city region, but ONLY 4 cities grouped close together can share resources... very annoying and I think not thought through.

I figured out what I was doing wrong, I should just not build random parks. I was throwing in parks and screwing the land value all over the place leading to unbalance in the wealth vs jobs ratio. In under 1 year, I now have 75k where before I could only get 30k.

It turns into a bigger issue at 150k when people start moving out because you have too much traffic or complain and not upgrade to large buildings. At 200k you start hitting more cars on the road because you can't get your transit services big enough to handle the load. Even if your not feeling it now you will when you grow your city big enough and thats going to happen quick. 250k isn't that far from 75k once things start upgrading.

Check out the simcity 4 NAM mod, network addon mod. Simcity 4 had the same issues with traffic, nam fixed it. All it took was a little common sense. The maxis team knew all of this too, they were talking with the guys that made NAM when maxis first started working on simcity 2013.

Btw matt, the best map to play for multiplayer is the 7 city map. 7 cities all connected by roads and rail. Better than the 16 city map.

Also, play on the test server if possible. Its running the version they are currently testing. Plus their region isn't lagged or broken and you can transfer stuff between cities.

I started a new region with what I learned from the first one I started. It's doing pretty well with two cities and I'll have the great works up soon. But yeah, as per the pic, it's definitely still broken.
