I am an accountant working in an insurance company.

Steve, a fellow reefer here at MR, got me into this hobby about 4 years ago. I bought his old tank and started with freshwater for over a year. Then decided to convert to saltwater. Its a great hobby and looks great in my living room!

I've been keeping Discus since i was little boy. I actually used to order from Jack wattley. Started salt water tanks in high school, but only started reefing a year and a half ago. Sean from aquatic creations convinced me to start reefing. Funny story- I'm originally from South America, when I was 10 years old I actually smuggled 6 baby discus in a large wine bottle with methylene blue. Airport security never suspected a thing but my father almost killed me.

I own a computer service / consultant / design / resale company in the hamptons.

Similiar to many others... I had an African Cichlid tank, active on cichlidforums, my then girlfriend... now wife is obsessed with "Nemo" and wanted to have one... me being me instead of getting a simple system with a clown fish I got involved in Reefing... 2 1/2 years now started with a NC12, year later 25, and now 95g. She's a HS Bio Teacher and I love hobbies so it works out.

I would like to point out that though Eric (digitalreefer) has a two false percs (which I have named "nemofish I and nemofish III" - nemofish II died), I have no clowns in my tank.

So not all women want nemos! :) I find it ironic that a movie about freeing a captive juvenile clownfish has inspired so many people to keep reeftanks.

Definately true, but you have to close the deal. I'm a commodities trader, but i have friends who were in the mortgage business. It's not that its a hard business, but you have to be able to deal with a fluctuating income.

grad student in Jewish Education (done in two weeks!!!!!) - "almost a Rabbi" in job and desire - I teach a LOT and lead services, do all kinds of Rabbi stuff as needed but not employed as a Rabbi exactly. It's complicated.

I had goldfish in high school and college, then had a breeding pair of fresh water angels through college and the biochemistry grad degree, but always wanted salt - waited until I had moved to what I thought would be my home for more than 5 years before setting up my salt tank.
