IT PMO at an asset management firm.

Had freshwater tanks all my life, biggest was a 75 with an Arowana. Got into reefing from Heuerfan getting my friend into it who got me into it, now I have a 55g alongside the starter nano.

Student and intern @ JPMorgan.

Back in the mid-90's, I visited my cousins in New Orleans. He had an awesome mixed reef with a whole bunch of stuff. I was too young to truly appreciate it, but I was fascinated. Too bad he took down the tank, but continues to be part of the hobby as an exclusive distributor for CoralVue. In 2000 or '01, I bought a JBJ NanoCube 12g. Been stuck on nano's ever since. I like the compactness and limitation to them. I'm just one of those people who work well with confines. If I'm going to go big, I'll hit the lotto and be the first pool reef owner.

I'm a Biology teacher at Forest Hills HS....Despite a background in icthyology (NYU, Dr. Perlmutter's lab...) and a lifetime of keeping fish, and going fishing, I never got into salt water until about 10 years ago, when I used my oldest son's research project (on artificial bulkheads in salt marshes...when he was at Townshend Harris HS, doing the research at Dr. Cantelomo's lab, St. Johns U) as an excuse.....didn't take me long to switch the tank over into a reef.....Take care, Eric

Sammy told me about this web site. This is my first time logging on and would like for you to give me some pointers on how to navigate. I'm interested in upgrading to a larger tank, I currently have a 30 gal. tank. I would like to pick up a 55 or a 75 but for a reasonable price (I'm on a buget ). I've been a hobbist for a longtime, and I am very noligiable on a variety of pet care, I'm not new to this.

I'm a Project/Facilites manager at Time inc. I'm an Architect by training.
I've grown up with fish tanks(goldfish, guppies, sworrdtails), I've dabble in SW at an early age, but killed them in a matter of several days. When i got my own place, i decided to jump back into SW and did reef and FO.

You work at 1271?

Professional Babysitter and part time PC repair tech.

I started a tank because I finally had the means to do it and because of my interest in marine biology from the time that I was a kid. I wanted to pursue MB in school but had a teacher tell me that I would never make it in the field because I wasn't smart enough due to the fact that I was "lazy" but later it was found that I had a learning disability and in fact I was dyslexic. Jump a few years and some bitterness now I have my tank and my job and my family and wouldn't change that for the world.

I'm currently writing my doctoral dissertation in Paleontology (no, I don't want to talk about it :) ) and I teach introductory college courses in the CUNY system.

I started a saltwater tank because:

1) I wanted a pet and my roommate already has a neurotic, traumatized cat, and we both feared for his sanity should another furry friend be introduced;

2) having a tank gives me a little tiny room to constantly redecorate;

3) my boyfriend had pretty fishies and I wanted some of my own.

I have never had a freshwater tank, unless you count my goldfish bowl with the fish I won at my elementary school fair by throwing ping pong balls into little vases.

Jive Records recording artist/Producer(Hip Hop, R&B)/Sound Engineer. I work with alot of the guys Fritz's wife deals with in court! LOL

My friend who passed away got me interested in reefing. He used to work at the Shed Aquarium in Chicago. He also maintained the tanks at The Rain Forest Cafe, in Illinois also. The aquariums he had at home were ridiculous! 10 tanks, the largest was 2000g. He loved the hobby.

I'm a Fine Artist-painter,printer......Had an Art gallery on Lexington Ave
for years before the rent got too high.
I was born in Bermuda, scuba dive and, surrounded by the sea-which I wanted to bring into the house as early as I can remember!
I guess that's why I started right off with Salt Water back in the early 70's.
My first tank was a 55 gallon with Nektonics undergravel filter and a "Bio Surge" protein skimmer
-WOW state of the art :biglaugh:
