  1. Opppsss

Yes Andy, the proper treatment for that is super-skimming with ultrachilled ozone to keep the clam from biting.
  2. Restarting/aquascaping a FW plant tank

Baby's day of separation, I took these just before seperating the mother plant from this. This one has rooted well since, momma plant shows 3 more sprouts, this one's only been getting bigger since.

  4. Restarting/aquascaping a FW plant tank

Up and running for a few months now, have a small cluster of GHA that likes to stay where it is in the tank, but otherwise, running well. I'll post some pics of setup etc in abit. Now that the tank has calmed down some, I'm going to start dosing dry ferts using the Estimative Index Method...
  5. Restarting/aquascaping a FW plant tank

Gman, what additional lighting would you recommend for this tank then? Also, as far as CO2 systems, I was looking at some of the more automatic systems. I've seen versions that time CO2 with lights being on, and then the systems that use PH controller to determine when to add CO2. I'm a...
  6. Restarting/aquascaping a FW plant tank

Ok the basics, 20 gallon tank was completely taken over by a hitching java moss, all attempts to control or get rid of it had failed. So tank is getting redone. 55 watt pc lighting Plants desired: Broad Ludwigia (Ludwigia Repens) Radicon-Marble Queen (Echinodorus Cordifolius) Dwarf...
  7. From reef to planted: musings and build thread

Wow, that's very area/geog specific demands. I would think with that high a specific demand for a area, they would be at high risk for exinction. Thanks for the info.
  8. From reef to planted: musings and build thread

Pardon my stupidity, but whats wrong with crossbreeding killifish?
  9. Hitchhiker Crab?

Wondering if it's possibly a "swimmer" crab, by looking at the hind legs. Hard to tell with it being small yet, but if that's the case, they're not good.
  10. Blackcap Basslet

camaroracer214 posted: That could have been a form of a "holing dispute", the royal gramma may have declared an area as it's cave, and the scarlet cleaner made the mistake of crossing a line in the sand so to speak. I've had a small one go after two scarlet cleaner shrimp, that approached...
  11. Wondering if I can keep a clam

The only time I've seen a sixline "attack" a clam was when it was covered with pyramidal snails.
  12. What would make my skimmer go crazy all of a sudden?

How new is the skimmer? If it was brand new, most after about 2 weeks will start foaming rather crazily until they calm down.
  13. Used Reptile Tank for reef?

Same as for a main tank, all a sump is is a place for processing the water, A rubbermaid container does nicely if your looking to go cheaper route, and better durability than a true reptile tank with the thin glass.
