Just wanted to say hello to all. We have had 2 freshwater tanks, was 3, downsized and upgraded, Just got our first salt going. awesome! any suggestions of the top of heads? 30 gallon; Got 22 lbs of live rock, beautiful!! a hermit dood, 2 green damsels.

We got home and i was doing dishes and he found a baby star! i was so excited!! i wanted to get one in the first place, and we decided to wait and not buy one, pretty ironic! its really cool, came out prolly 10 minutes after we got things settled in tank and then he went back into hiding...i was meant to see her i think! lol..

Thanks for the welcome We have already learned so much from this forum!!

As for the hermit crab, we believe it is a Scarlet reef hermit crab, not sure really, thats just based on some research we did. To be honest we saw it in the tub the rock was in and it was the smallest one in there and decided we wanted it.

Hi there and Welcome Reefs.Org...Sounds like your off to a super start...Can you describe the star to us, and maybe we'll give you a heads up on what it is specifically you have..

Enjoy the ride, it can be numpy at times, but the ride in the marine world is always worth it in the end...

The star is an asterina from what research i have done. its a tiny little thing, no bigger than my fingernail. beige in color, about 7 little "tenticles", (is that what you call it at this point?).

bummer that we havnt seen it since! i was excited as heck! but i suppose it made its apperance and now is in hiding again.

Thanks !!
