I use eggcrate with plastic window screen stay-tied to it so my little fish can't get through it. Also, if you leave about an extra inch of screen around the edge of the eggcrate, it fills in all the little holes & cracks around stuff that may be hanging on back of tank. Rita
Anemones need to be fed. That is why they have a mouth. With all due respect to your lfs personnel, that is ridiculous that starving your anemone is going to make it not eat your fish. Any anemone will eat any fish that blunders into it. It's more up to the fish than the anemone whether it...
My vote goes to the brittlestar as the culprit. I had a killer brittlestar (harlequin) once that was picking off the occupants of my tank one by one. I finally caught it & gave it to someone (with a warning) who later reported it ate their royal gramma. BTW in my tank the brittle was...
Why don't you set up her own little tank for her so she can have all the hermies she wants. Doesn't have to be a big deal...a 10 gal with sand, a rock & water out of the main tank, & a powerhead, heater & strip light. Who knows how grateful she might be:) Rita
Hi. Mostly I use a turkey baster to spray shredded seafood on my corals. I used to have an LTA which I fed with a chopstick sharpened in a pencil sharpener. The sharpened point held on to the chunk of seafood nicely until the sticky anemone tentacles could pull it off. I gave the anemone away...
My experience with clown gobies makes me want to warn you against putting 2 in a 15 or 20g. I love these little guys & always want to buy them when I see them but that is so seldom. I once put 2 black ones in a 20 & one bullied the other & attacked it everytime it came out into the open. The...
I agree. My clown gobies will perch on anything including leather corals. I've noticed that they usually choose a high perch & that if given a choice they will choose something "branchy" like a green sinularia. I'm pretty sure they would even accept a fake branching coral. Rita
Yours is awfully cute & fat. What do they eat?? Algae? Plankton? Flakefood??? I would definitely be interested in getting a pair if I ever see them. Rita
One or 2 neon gobies plus MAYBE a yellow clown goby. How small is the tank? These fish are so small that you could probably have 3 in a 10 gallon. Rita
