hi guys.. Is there something I can do to reduce the noise of the skimmer's needle wheel air intake?????

what you accomplish by that is cleaning the washing machine of any soap residue.. correct?... Do you use any soap to clean your socks?.. Bleach?.. I'mma buy two more today so I can rotate,, I had no idea these things get so clogged up so fast.. Its overflowing right now.

Peps I got a quick question.. How do I clean the filter sock in my sump?... I tried rinsing it in the sink and that does not do the trick..Its like the dirt is stuck to it..... I was thinking of throwing it in the laundry but I dunno if the soap could kill lthe fish... You do you clean yours?

i'm not woried about the light since I have a FOWLR with a compact fluorescent in the mean time. The rock has been dry for a while now.. does that matter??.. Id say its been dry for over two months.[/code]

Its rock that was once live... but its dry now... If I add one pc of live rock in with all the other rock.. about 40lbs.. will it seed it?.. If so.. how long will it take?... I would like to seed it without taking a pc out of my tank.. chris you mentioned adding some fish food.. can you give...

Now that I come back to this topic.... If I wanted just to give life to my rock.. now Im talking strictly about bacteria... not color... what should I do?.. PUt it in a rubbermaid container with a heater and powerhead for a few weeks?...Do I have to add anything for nutrient source?

There is no such thing as sucking out too much out of the water.. I would get rid of the HOB.. Get a sock and put it in the return from the overflow. Save the money you would spend on a canister and buy a skimmer... Do you think you have enough space in there for a small fuge??

Its a small tank, but I hate the skimmer I have .. the seaclone 100.. and It made me hate hob skimmers all together.. I had an Asm Mini-G and i loved it... I think that by doing this I will have 100%better skimming and I can reduce the micro bubbles with the sump! Thanks Len!

yeah... I shut of the pump like five times at different times and it works fine.. I only need it to hold for a month or twol.... I'll build a glass one soon.. thanks!!!
