Well I know of one of those boards that will not allow it. If you were to call someone a "goober" on there, they would ban you. And don't say there is nothing to flame anyone for on that board, I read alot of posts that deal with the ultimate rape of the reefs.

You are incorrect if you are speaking of www.thereeftank.com. EmilyB flamed me 3 times in one post and she was not censored or chastized. Also at www.corvetteforum.com I have never needed to flame anyone, then again in both places the people moderating and running the boards do not feel the need to flame their members.

Thank you for your clarification. I guess the GNP threw me off. I guess what would have been clearer would have been to state Fiji's 2nd largest export is fish (dead or alive). At least I got to relearn what GNP and GDP was. Do you have the link that lists the exports from Fiji. I can't seem to find it easily. I'm curious what #1 was

Found it. Fish is a distant 3 next to Sugar and Garment. Just above Gold. Yes fiji has a large gold mine on the main island.

I tried your link and it would not load. The link I viewed had fish exports at $45 million a year. Regardless of whether it is 2nd or 3rd the fact that some importers want to make it sound like they do not have an influence on what governments do is rather ludicrous. If they actualy followed through with recomendations they could help to make harvesting not such a destructive force on the reefs. So many want to live in denial that they have a negetive impact that reform is almost a word that looks like it will never happen. There are many orginazations that are giving importers a lot of room to make changes but again many say they will uphold standards but then absolutely do not.

If these people do not change I hope people are aware enough that the restrictions will come as a direct reesult of the importers actions or lack there of, and not at the hands of those trying to presereve some wild reefs.

I think live coral would be about 1/10th the live fish exports {in dollars {and that is what CITIES is envolved in. Bet you food fish is ten times that of live fish {in Kilos}, so again this would make live coral exports one percent of the fish and coral export ?
