Man that is really a hard nut to swallow - sorry to hear and glad to hear everyone's ok. Remember, all that other $h1t can be replaced - your or your family's' life can not.

Unfortunately, I know how it feels with the house part - only mine was caused by the fireplace.

if you want to borrow my generator temporarily to keep the heater going you're more than welcome to borrow it. It gets about 7 hours to a full tank of gas and can run 15amps.

Hang in there man, it'll get fixed up in no time.

Chief, so far I am not sure. The only official report they made so far was it started outside on the front porch. We are still waiting for an official answer on what the cause was, but if it started right there I smoked, then I think we all know it was most likely me.

Kevin, that's what they all try to say to cheer me up. And I know her father it. But its not just that... Walls, molding, hardwood floors, tile floor for the hall way, matresses, since the power was killed something messed up with hot tub pump so new hot tub, couches, everything that after today we still say smells like soot we can have replaced. So that's a good thing...

Jim, we actually fully got the powe back on. So everything seems to be stable. Her fathers pond is running again, the frig is back on, all the purifiers are in full force running. But thanks a lot for your offer. Would have been good for the first day! Lol. But it's all good now.



Day 3, smoking is starting to get rough but chewing gum is helping. Today I believe everything in the house is going to be steam cleaned and wiped down. Every little thing in the house will get this treatment. Walls, cups, floors, inside dressers, closets, everything. Crossing my fingers this eliminates some of the soot and smell! We will see later when I go there...

well, the house is starting to come together finally. the insurance company just finished this morning with the very last room to wipe down. every room in the whole house got cleaned from top to bottom. the smell is finally fading...not gone, but slowly fading due to those purifiers. the walls are next. they started on them, but still need alot of work. the biggest project once we get our good friend who is also our contractor to get his butt over, its time to smash down the entire cement porch and rip all the siding down. thats going to be a huge project! but for now, this is whats going on inside wise...

oh yeah, and for smoking wise...:snail:the days feel like they are taking forever to end now. :frown: im dealing with it though but what kills me is i see everyone smoking around me and im like COME ON NOT FAIR! lol but im still clean at least...

lol im not giving in. ive been good. never said i started again. lol but working out is next. my goal is 25 pounds. its going to be rough but whatever. my girlfriend wants to buy me p90x for my birthday, i dont know about that lol...

well, begining of march was the fire...and FINALLY there is construction going on!!!! finally got some of the insurance money, and the contractor went right to work! i know alotttt of people wanted to see how the build will go, and let me tell you, its going to be real nice. all new 100% siding for the whole house, new side walk, new porch, new overhang, new windows, new everything. its going to be a whole new face lift after its all done.

so far, they started on tusday, and this is what its looking like so far!

first day of work, started ripping down siding, and put new garage windows in...

jackhammered the entire porch the second day...

day three they ripped down the overhang and more siding...

Start of the build on day 4.....

Looking good. Great to hear that everyone is all okay and that progress is on the way.
On a side note, don't blame yourself blame the way our homes are made. It's like a match box just waiting to be lit on fire. Look at the structure everything seems to be made out of wood.

honestly, 100% now. i use to have a clove every now and then, or one of the cigars the size of a cig, but now, they are just nasty tasting. in fact, im actually doing a pretty good job at getting people to quit now! lol i learned about the "e-cig" those new amazing electronic cigs. not the old "electronic cigarette" but "e-cigs" the 100% no carbon monoxide, tar, tabacco, anything, just 1.4% nicotine and a flavor of your choice. they claim its the number 1 way to quit smoking. i actually heard newports is filing a lawsuit with one of the companies because they "stole" 200 MILLION customers already within the past year because of the new "e-cig". they claim it has no side effects and all that. i just got my one friend CJ who has been smoking since 15, and is now 29, this past week now 100% switched over to the e-cig, and not smoking a cig at all! im also working with Lou right now, he would be the biggest achievement if i got him to 100%. Lou is really bad with smoking. for example, last night i helped him move his tank across the house because of the new couches they were getting. we started at 7 oclock, and finished at 4 in the morning! between that time, he smoked a pack and 3 others from another. even he was saying its out of control. i sat down with him and showed him all about it, and starting monday he is giving it a shot and really excited. James as well just started too. not a real good brand one, but a simple gas station one, and was shocked by it. so far, so good with him. he likes it. so, i guess you could say its going good! lol

and if anyone wants information about the E-cigs, do not hesitate to PM me. im not taking about the older "electronic cig", im talking about the "e-cigs" for menthol smokers. i have done ALOT of research about it and could try to explain it to you as well and show you which brand is good and which are garbage. i can try to help get you to quit smoking if your interested... not only that, but save you ALOTTTT of money. for starters, 10 bucks today is getting you one pack of smokes. 10 bucks will equal about 45 cigs in terms to the E-cigl...

update: house is slowly coming along. painter is almost done inside. new roof fully put up. tile floor is going in today. new door installed. all new windows in. slowly coming along....

only thing that stinks is that the tile floor is being put in today...but that means we cannot step on it, and thats the only way to get upstairs! upstairs is all the bedrooms and bathroom and shower. the basement bathroom works, but the mainfloor bathroom is completely ripped apart with no toilet or sink. and also, where we sleeping....nooo ideaaaaa.... tonight will be funnn....

Sooo, next week is final week of installation. The siding late today was 100% completed. Inside the house is 100% completed. New tile floor and all new paint in intire house 100% completed. New rug and ceiling in finished basement 100% completed. All final ruined products, like mattress, new leathee couches, ect.. Will be delivered Monday. All that is left is railing, and steps, and inspection... Then finally finished. Cannot wait.
