Today...is the last day

Today was single handedly one of the worst days I've ever had. I pretty much live at my girlfriend parents house. I woke up this morning with my stomach hurting. I went out side at 10:30 and smoked a cigarette. Realized wow, it's pretty windy out. Put my cig out and took a shower. I left at 12:00 to go to work. At 12:30 I got a phone call from my girlfriend crying saying get home now... This is what I came home too...

My cig apparently did not fully go out and set fire to my girlfriends house. Thank god no one got hurt nor the dogs. My girlfriend woke up from my dog barking like crazy, she saw the flames instantly and called 911. The neighbor already was in front of my house and turned the hose on and started spraying down because the entire center of the house was on fire.

Now we are not aloud to stay in the house for over a week until the whole front of the house is replaced and repaired. The electric is shut down so all the food in the frig is going to go bad, the ponds heater is shut off, there is no heat, no nothing...and its all my fault...

That was my last cigeratte. Hopefully this shows everyone else who does smoke, make sure it's fully out when you are done. I thought it mine was...and look at the results from my mistake...

Ryan its ok. It's can be repaired. Everyone's ok that's the main thing. I've seen houses a lot worse that have been repaired.

Sorry for this bud. Be prepared. I have smoked for 27 years. Said that's it and quit Jan 1 of this year. Went back 2 weeks later. Quit Feb. 4th went back 2 weeks later. Quit on Feb 22 and haven't had one yet. It will be THE hardest thing you have to do but as you can see it will be worth it. The $10 a day I was spending now goes in a jar. It adds up fast.

Honestly, my girlfriend stopped smoking January 1 and has been clean since. After this event, every time I look at a cig i will think of today and know it's not worth it... Tomorrow when i wake up, no more...

i smoked for 15 years i stopped 2 years ago by far the best thind i have every done for myself plus for my family and look at me now i run 2 miles allmost everyday now i never felt so good just do it

That sucks! My father smokes and he makes a habit of putting out the cig in a cup of water all the time. Glad everybody is OK. Hopefully insurance takes care of it, but keep in mind, its only money and things are replacable.

On a side note, it looks like there's a face in the top half of the front window on this pic

But its just the back window and the shapes of the tree leaves

I am so sorry to hear of this Craziness, I am glad to hear you and your family are ok. Good luck on the smoking thing. I quit 6 years ago to help a friend quit. If you want it bad enough, you can do anything.
