I hear ya is why Im skeptical no matter how good the corals look to buy on a big rock- have heard more people with the same deal- never had it till they brought someone elses rock with corals into their tank and poof! aptasia hope you get rid of it. Why not frag the corals off with some of the rock and ditch the big piece with them on it?

peppermint shrimp... worked for me.

I recently noticed one of these evil critters on a rock, and picked up a couple peppermint shrimp at the swap. I put them into the tank and watched them... watched some more and some more... said screw it went to bed. After 3 days of this, I came home from work to find the aiptasia gone... not a sign of him, just a bare hole where he once called home.

worked for me, I say give it a try.. and thank you to house for telling me how to deal with it, and for providing the shrimp.

That piece just so happens to be my drain.. Remember my drains are covered in rock.. Yes, I can take them out but I'm lazy this is why my tank is set up so set it and forget it,,lol..

Ok didnt know it was on the drains Id still try to chip it off a little bit- not enough to disturb too much but to get the anemones out. Not afraid of them spreading? thatd be my #1 concern but I understand you also not wanting to do it at the same time.

Ever consider berghias?
