Who said Kalk kills aiptasia??? I inherited some aiptasia from rock some nice corals I bought a while back and noticed they had aiptasia.. So I have been feeding them kalk paste only to have them shrivel up and return even bigger..
I don 't even remember who said this was a good idea but it must have been a noob,,lol and I must have been crazy to listen,,, hahaha they must be laughing at me.. LMAO.. I'm tired of chasing the same 4 aiptasia around my tank,,lol..
What's the best killer of aiptasia?? And please don't respond if you don't have an sps reef that you are still running and have tried that method in.
Thanks and Happy reefing

And put it under water, next to my corals,,,,yeah....lmao guess that might be better than having the tasia kill the coral..
They are usually on a rock that I can't take out without remodeling and you know how that goes,,, sucks big time..

1 was large on a rock that supported part of my scape as well. i tried injecting him a bunch of times

he always gets food somehow and kept getting bigger. i would just suction near him to piss him off and food would come out of him...he was killing my zoas like crazy so i had no choice but to cut him...i sucked up what was cuz then i kept using the suction and it sucked out the rest of him from the rock. it took like 20 suctions to get the rest out till it released.

Ive heard people say kalk worked for them- Ive heard people say kalk didnt work for them. Like everything else in the hobby I think different people have success with different techniques.

I also dont believe in knocking someone because of limited time in a hobby making a suggestion. In my occupation sometimes the new guys actually come up with good alternative ways to do things that an old timer would have never thought of- the reason for the sayin teach an old dog new tricks.

We wonder why people are sometimes made to feel intimidated about posting on the board? I think heres 1 answer----good luck on killing your aptasia.

Nope not at all and never claimed to be- but when I am I still will not treat people differenty due to how long theyre into it.

If someone gives me a tip that they've heard works, I try it and it doesnt work- I'd thank them for tryin to help but point out that I didnt have success in it.

Just how I feel, sorry if it Pi$$ed you off.
And again good luck with the aptasia.

And I am NOT MIKE!!! I'm turning 19 in 3 days lol

Trust me Bob the last thing Im gonna do is fly off the handle- but I will state my opinion at times- BIG difference.

I hate Aiptasia.. I never had this problem before I got a good deal on some decent corals with aprock..(Aiptasia rock for the old people like me)
Moral to this story It's not a good deal unless the tank looks good and the corals do too..
