That sounds better, but you did force me to do a test. I ran these two electrodes for one hour. I ran it in 10 minute incremants so as not to over heat the transformer. Both the graphite and stainless steel wire were imersed in salt water about 1/2 inch.
You can see by the picture that there is absolutely no deterioration of the graphite and no residu on the wire. The end is a darker color because it is wet.
If you run it with reversed polarity, it will destroy the graphite and the stainless steel in about 2 minutes.

I shipped about 30 of these things and so far (thank God) I have not had any complaints. The Post Office lost two of them but thats about it.
The graphite seems to last forever with no noticeable wear and so does the stainless steel. For the tip I use solid stainless steel wire that is used for shark fishing. It is not that easy to get but it comes in 25' rolls and I cut pieces off of it on a sharp angle so it easily pierces a mojano.
I have not heard of any problems with the gasses either, as a matter of fact, I think my corals look better. :tongue1:

Toothdoc you are welcome, I am glad the thing is working as it is supposed to.
I have it down to a science now. The first few models I had some problems with leakage and corroding electrodes but now I feel they are perfect.
My daughter loves to zap mojanos so I grew some nice fat ones for her to Zap.

just a follow up on my "old" model, the leak is a bit worse, the bulb burned out and it's showing signs of corrosion....but it's still zapping away just like day one. so besides the "aesthetic" issues, it's still bad ass.....lol. i'll get a pic. up later on.
tynman just returned it and ecfencing is up next...i'll keep you posted on the thing.

Toothdoc, you told me about the leak so I have another one already built for you.
I can send it out this monday if you like. I don't use that bulb anymore, it was just for looks but it became problamatic so I eliminated it.
Being it is not affecting the performance I presume the leak is near the graphite electrode and not the tip.
It will probably croak so take the new one and throw that one out.
The ones with the bulb were a very new model.
Paul

I need your address because you had someone pick that one up
