Thanks. Looking at the pictures, the left and rock side just looks like unshapen mounds of rock. It's much more intricate in person ;)

FWIW, I figure the perpsective problem has to do with me using a 60mm macro lens (effectively 90mm on a 1.5x FOV camera). I will try my WA lens which I can yield an effective 50mm perspective, better mimic'ing the human perspective.

Jesus, Len, this is going to be a gorgeous tank!

I'm jealous of your rockwork, I actually said "holy crap" out loud when I saw the first cave pic (on page 5) - I've never seen a "this is my new tank and I just added my live rock waddaya think?" photo that wasn't actually a "does this make me look fat?" kind of situation until now.

The only bummer I see is that now we've got to wait years for things to fill in. :(

I'm in the final stages of getting a 120AGA setup - it's the same dimensions as yours, minus 4" to every dimension. I'd be interested in some shots of your sump and the plumbing inside your stand if you've got some - I'm still up in the air about how I'm going to do mine.

I was all ready to go and post a build log and now I'm self conscious beside yours! :D

Looking good Len.

I liked the cave, but it really wasn't all that practical unless you were planning some very low light corals in there and I'm sure that grotto will fill up with pretty light loving corals.

Always harder to look at the aquascaping with the thought of what corals are going to be going in there and how they will look a few years down the road.

Just think of lots of pretty mushrooms covering everything! ;)

Rikko, thanks for the compliments. I estimate I've spent about 40 hours aquascapping (yes, I am crazy and picky). I'm going to try to take better pics in a few days. I'll also post some cabinet photos later tonight.

Post your tank log! I definitely want to see it. :) My previous tank was a 120G; it's a great tank!

Yep, it wasn't very pratical. The first aquascape was really not my vision anyhow. It was mostly fashioned "in the dark" when the tank was still completely murky. I decided to redo the whole thing. I knew it was going to cost me another 12+ hours, but I figure you only aquascape once :)

I tried to envision coral placement this time around. There's a lot of specific ideas I have for different spots. Now whether I have the integrity and will-power to follow through is a whole other story ;)

Just think of lots of pretty mushrooms covering everything! ;)

About my equipment: Not everything is where it should be, and there's still quite a few equipment left to install (kalkreactor, ca reactor, controller, dosing pump, et al). Pardon the random temporary wiring :P But the main filtration is fully plumbed. This includes the skimmer, the chiller, the media reactor, the return plumbing, and the overflow plumbing.

Here's the equipment that will be pictured:
Return pump: Panworld 50PX-X
Skimmer: Deltec AP702
Chiller (not pictured, outdoors): Aqualogic Delta 1/3HP
Media Reactor: AquaZ Orion
Chiller/skimmer/reactor pump: Eheim 1262
Sump: 36x15x15" acrylic made by Lifereef (years ago). DIY slotted/removable baffles.
