Has anyone seen this study?

In addition to the fact that many current salt mixes are not represented:

1. Many of the results in that study do not reflect current salt mixes because they have intentionally changed them (I know this is true for some species in some salt mixes, for example).

2. I do not believe that some of the values represent current formulations based on my studies and those of other folks (copper and aluminum, for example). Perhaps they were correct when tested, but may no longer reflect current batches.

3. I am suspicious of some of the other values because they are approximately the same for every salt mix (suggestive of artifact, IMO). These might all be correct, especially if they all use the same bulk suppliers, but it is surprising to me, and sends up a yellow flag to check on them.

I am pleased to announce that I am now returning to work on this project.

Although the new store is still not open (read about it here), construction is complete and so I can devote time back to this.

We are working up a web page to keep everyone informed. A preliminary version can be found at http://www.inlandreef.com/testing.html. Other parts (accounting and test procedures) will be filled in over the next several days.

If you go to the link and look at the accounting page the funds are WAY short with only +2k donated and +14k needed, so expect it to take awhile unless there is a rich reefer out there to make it happen.

Wheres the raffle?

Reefs.org has acquired donations as well as the software set up for auctioning and raffling. These donations will go a long ways in achieving the funds required to do the testing. Inland is currently assessing alternative financial goals/plans that may be more immediately achievable. Once these details are hammered out, Reefs.org will commence with the auctions and raffles. We will be in contact with Inland Reef to get a update. Hopefully, the auctions/raffles will begin in the very near future.
