yes it's to save the water, and boost the output.
I don't pay for the water, but I hate to waste that much, my ratio is one to four, it makes no sense to send it down the drain if it can be reused even a little bit.

same guy twice? maybe its something he is doing... those Tunze Waveboxes for ex are said to add a lot of stress to the seams.

the wave box sets up a constant "wave" that beats against the glass over and over, thus weakening the silicone seams. this does not happen over night and it is only being projected to happen. if you overbuild the tank it should be okay.

if your tank busts albert I'll help you mop up the water and set up the new one.
as far as paying for it you'll have to catch me on a good day :D
