Good point, now we are talking. This is the kind of reasoning we should be hearing. I would not order an endangered spieces nor those I believed they are hard to keep. I will continue to research on this scallop thing why so many also say they can raise them Ok. If I find that raising with success is a simple measure that MR members forgot, I will let everyone know. If it takes a lot of effort, I would also stop ordering them for ppl.

Just want you to know I am not mad at you.

Agreed no one's mad.

I think there's a big difference between a dog and a scallop.. Scallops are about the same level as snails and shrimp on the evolutionary scheme of things. If there are a hundred million scallops, and someone kills one, its just not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. However, if someone if trying to propogate a rare coral or invert and is actually contributing to the survival of the species, it is very important.

And I'm not trying to be a jerk or offend anyone here, I am just bored and trying to express my deep, important thoughts on the matter.

There is a big difference between dogs and a scallop. You said you eat scallops, did you think about the fact that somewhere in the world people do eat dogs? Yes it's off topic, but it's in reference to what you said about scallops being food;).

It doesn't matter what level the scallop is on, you're still killing something.

Like you I'm expressing my thought, but I'm not bored.

But we kill lots of stuff... Mysis, brine shrimp, aiptasia, evil destructive hitchhiker crabs, we sacrifice snails to our hermits, etc etc.. I just don't understand why its so much worse to kill a scallop...

Hate to jump into this hell of a thread again, but why are you using other people to prove your point if in fact you consider Flame Scallops an "OK" invert to deal with?

This just seems a little contradictory that you're comparing the Flame Scallops you consider to be "OK" to harder to keep CBB. If you truly do believe that Flame Scallops are "OK" then you would have never compared them the CBB which you believe is hard to keep. It could just be the way I'm reading it or it could be the way you're writing it, but it just doesn't seem right.

It also doesn't seem right that your bringing other people who have nothing to do with this thread. You said you wanted to stay away from bashing but it seems as though you're indiscreetly bashing a few members.
That's two nickels in one day, damn.

OK I will choose my way of writing more carefully next time. Thanks for the advise. Sorry for those whom I might have accidentally stepped on.

I don't see how you could have that mentality being in the hobby we're in. I'm not going any further with this. What had to be said was said, makes no sense to drag on about something that's going to continue to bring about more contradictions and needless banter.

Again Wingo sorry I started this whole thing, but I'm not sorry that I said what I said.

I wll definately donate once I feel I am not being discriminated.

Again you need to use a dictionary and look up the definition of that word. You are not being discriminated against. This has nothing to do with Creed Color, or race this has to do with you thinking you can come here and tell people who you ask for help and who have more time in the reef hobby than you have alive that you know more than they do. You aren't a marine biologist, you aren't a scientist, you ask for help then throw things back in peoples faces when they tell you the truth.

I see even reputed ronan is selling CBB. I also would like to remind you guys when our fellow members are selling CBB, no one would complaint. Please tell me how this work?

.

Hey How did i get put in to this thread ,I wasnt even following up nor looking ,man i shoud be more aware of this

Wingo

This is totally worng that you put my name into something i never commented on.

So only thing to do is corect your statement ,I dont sell to ANYONE! that 1st off .,They are pre ordered for members who are aware that they are hard to keep ,not to mention me telling them that they are hard to keep.

2.If someone on the broad would tell me that what i order does not have a good survival rate and will die ,Well i would listen:scratch:

3rd ,I remember a while back ago i ordered purple leathers and i didnt know it was dyed .well guess what ppl where upset and i said i didnt know ,up until today i never ordered anything like that.

4th .Im not here to bash you or anything like that ,one thing i will say is listen to guys on the broad ,there has to be over 500 years of reef keeping between everyone if not more ,I think they know just a bit more then me and you ,and if you want to see challange that (which you are )and lossing the battle.with who is right or worng

just my 2cent

wow this thread got too long for me to even read it all. Anyways no need to blame anyone, im sure if wingo knew for sure how hard they are to take care of he would have warned me. I should have done more research on the scallops before getting them. Before I got them from wingo I did a quick search on Dr. fosters since they usually have info on mostly everything and they seemed like they would be moderate. But after reading the following post I guess they are a little more work to take care of than I thought. Unfortunately I don’t have the time right now time right now to take care of corals with such high maintenance, which is why I recently broke down my 75. So now back to the question who wants to trade a scallop for a Percula? lol
