Sanjay's GLE Clowns

I just got mine acclimated into the 20g VIP tank. They both seem in verry good shape. I was curious Sanjay about how many were misbarred. I like it, but im wondering if we will see the bars connect. 5 month old True percs would still be getting thier bars. This really is cool stuff.

In this batch, there were relatively few misbarred ones and it seemed limited to the middle bar.

mine are still in a holding box inside my 10g waiting to be trasnported to my 30g in philly tomorrow...they look like buddies already...very happy with them....

No. I do not think that the bar will fully form on the misbars. Even though the parents are fully barred the babies can be mis bars. According to a lot of clownfish breeders, the mis barring has a big environmental component to it. Its seems lower temps during metamorph may result in fewer misbars. The ones I have from the 2nd batch are even more strongly mis barred. I raised the 2nd batch at almost 5 deg higher than the the first batch.

Really? That is very very interesting. I read somewhere that they think misbarring in general is recessive. But if temperature plays a role, that would indicate that it's actually epigenetic.

Both of mine are misbarred, though the smaller one less so than the larger.

Love the clowns, and are very active, but they haven't hosted in my anemone yet - they're just swimming together near the top of the tank.

Here they are. they love do dig around in the gravel doing burnouts. still havent named them yet.

Mine are doing great! they have been moved up to my main display tank. I will try to get a picture they are nearly as black as the one in your pics Sanjay.
