From what I've seen, when they are mating, the male is more blue, and the female is more lighter.. almost a tinge of purple or so.
When they're not mating, I can't tell the difference
I think I've seen your Jawfish before. Do you know my buddy Mateo.
I went with him one time to your house I think. Your YHJ looked great.
I'm currently taking care of baby alligator pipefishes. Trying to cath them was a bit$% Atleast the babies were a bit bigger than the network pipefish eggs that hatched in my tank before. They are doing great but the tough part is keeping them alive. So far so good. Has your YHJ eggs hatched yet???
Eggs were either laid on Friday or Saturday morning because I didn't get to see the tank at all on Friday.
Pic from Saturday
Close up (I think eggs were laid Friday morning because you can already begin to see eyes)
They've been mating every 2 weeks or so. I think this is the largest clutch of eggs so far because he can't close his mouth more then what is pictured.
