That is so cool man. I hope you get to raise them up to adulthood. I think I have seen them far sale as tank bred jaw fish, so you probably have a real good shot at raising them.

Good luck, put the babies up for sale when you raise them. I have seen in store instant rotifer and bbs in a jar, those would be good for you.

Good luck man.

Nice,,, I have 2 pairs of pj cardinals that breed all the time..I first time I noticed it I started to set a tank for babies up the next day there mouths were empty...But your fish sit them down and eat mines don't eat for 7 days when carring eggs...
Good luck and this will probably be a regular thing now...

Ming, if you are really serious about rasing the babies.. There is a lady in on RC, Socal forum named Nicole something had a breeding pair when I lived out there. She'll be more than happy to help you with her experiance.. Stay up late tonight to do a search for her :lol2:..

All I know is get them to breed in easy, getting the babies to eat and grow is the hard part.

Woke up this morning and no more eggs and no babies to be found.
I guess they released them last night and everybody had a feast.
On the bright side, I can which 2 are the 2 that bred because it looks like they're showing off to each other again. This gives me time to setup the breeding tanks and buy the supples I need

It seems to have more eggs then last time!
Its also much more noticeable that they've been laid very recently unlike last time I didn't realize until the eyes already formed.

Making the whole tank just jawfishes wouldn't be too hard. I have a copperband and a yellow clown goby in there with the 3 jawfish. I think it would be less stressful removing the other fish rather then moving the jawfish. I'm just hesistant to move them into my display because the copperband would eat all my dusters. I got him for aiptasia control which he does a great job. The clown goby picks on my sps so I rather not have him in there either. I do have another tank that if I catch all the baby jawfish, I can put them into. Just that they tend to release the babies in the middle of the night, and guard the eggs with their lives so thats the hardest part.

I have a pair of YHJ & observed white eggs in the mouth of one of the pair but never observed a dark egg mass. The fish only appeared to carry them for a few days & no trace of the eggs after this. Before this episode, the fish both shared the same burrow. Now they occupy 2 different burrows. Hope you have better luck. These are quite interesting fish, especially if you have 2 or more.

Lets hope so!

In my recent move, I was scooping baby fish from my 150G and thought that I had every thing. At the new house when I open the bucket which I keep all my big fish, I found another army of super small babies.:biglaugh:
