Looking for Opinions on Phoenix 14k 250w mh bulb for my current sunpod light.

They are great bulbs, just bought my 2nd set from Gotham Aquatics. Gives off the perfect amount of blue for your tank! Had nothing but success with them.

i dont have em but have seen peoples tanks with them and cant complain about the quality two thumbs up from me

Been runnin them, for 9 months now. Great bulbs I like the amount of blue. It isnt blue overkill but gives a nice look, just right for me. Worth every penny in my eyes.

The Phoenix are double ended I don't think come in the mogul style.

Just ordered one up. They are on sale at depot for $55.

I find them too blue for my tastes UNLESS they are overdriven on an HQI ballast (Josh this is your case I believe) in which case they burn whiter and are very nice.

They are a quality lamp construction wise.

There are 14k Phoenix SE bulbs now. Just more expensive, around 90$ a pop.

Not sure if it is magnetic or electronic, but I'm almost certain it is not an HQI that over drives most MH lamps.

I don't know your taste in lighting, and given prevailing trends in the hobby, chances are you will like the Phoenix just fine. Just know that an Phoenix driven at normal spec is really a 20k lamp not a 14k as it is labeled. For many,(most?) that is just fine.

exactlly any one using these on magnetig ballast?
i have aquamedic fixture swith magnetic and if i use any 20k can't get more then 4 months any 14k are just white let us know who is using these on magnetic!! thanks

According to their website, its magnetic, but they say its an hqi. Can it be both?
