well I am planning for fish in the 75 gallon right now. I was just told in a pm from aquatic express ( a vendor) to put a 6-7 inch angel, he said any large angel would be fine and i should put a 6-7 inch naso tang in there. He said they will be fine with the trigger as long as i put the tang and angel at the same time. He told me to move the rocks around and everything should be fine. He told me the fish will be fine and happy in that tank for about 3 yrs, and by then they will be moved to a bigger tank.

Don't do it!!! I'll not do that on my 450g tank. Patience and take your time. What's the rush.

You never gave the size of your second tank. The rush is the same for all of us. We all want fish - especially those of us that love fish. Like me, I dont care for corals but I love fish. And sometimes I can't wait to get my hands on that fish that I am eyeing. Time has proven to be a friend and I have learned how to wait for a fish that I really want. I also don't rush into just putting any fish into a tank just because it is empty. Oh and how I would just hate to cave in to everyone telling me that I could not do such a thing like putting in a really large fish into a really small tank. I hated that man! Hey, maybe you can try getting some of the fish you want as juveniles and grow them out in a 75. Then by the time they grow larger you can put them in a big tank.

Oh, and how can I forget. I don't rush putting fish into a tank just because......
because I hate wasting my hard earned money. Most always those fish will not be wanted and taken back to the fish store for less then half the price in store credit.

I thought you bought another tank or a bigger one??? I am puzzled that a vendor would tell you that to drop a naso and angel both the same size. I thought we were talking about one fish, now it's two? If you plan to keep these fish in a 75G for the next three years you will run into a problem. In this case I say don't do it...

I had my angels in seperate tanks and now I do have 6 angels in a 120G, but my reason for doing so, I am trying to test their temperament towards each other, but if things got out of hand or they decided to try to kill each other, I do have many large tanks to split them up. I don't plan to keep them like this for 3 years, they will be moved to other tanks by then...

Like Marrone suggested I think maybe you should stick with a Flame Angel. It is hardy and stays small...

You can put a small/medium regal angel in there. It doesn't grow as fast as the tangs or other large angels. I had mine for more than 2 years and it has only grown an inch or two. Dwarf angels such as flame angels are also good choice. My personal favorites are regal and small adult blueface for 75g tank.

Bikinisalt, I spoke to 6 different places and they all told me to add an angel that is 6-7 inches and a large naso the same size. All the places told me to add them at the same time, and the the places told me that should last in my tank for atleast 3 yrs. 2 places even told me that the angel, tang, trigger and lion will be fine in there for 5 yrs. and would run into any problems as long as I put the tang and angel in at the same time.

If you give us the dimensions, anyone of us can tell you the gallons.
I am a vendor that sells lots of tangs and angels.
If you walked into my place of business, knowing what I now know about your setup and plans, I'd feel comfortable selling you EITHER the angel OR the tang, but def not both.

Just my $0.02

At first you will not run into any problems, however I am willing to bet you that in 2 months time you will and if a vendor, store, etc told you that you can put in a 6-7" naso and a 6-7" angel in a 75G(I assume you have rock, sand, etc, which leaves less open swimming room) and they would be fine for the next 3 to 5 years in there, they are TOTALLY WRONG.

I monitor my fish everyday and I have large tangs and angels and I watch how they interact with each other, but if I ran into a problem with any of them I am fortunate to be able seperate them into other tanks or just go buy another tank and/or dedicate major time if need be...

You have not givin anyone here an opportunity to reason with you because you keep stating you want to put them in a 75G. If you told us the size of the new tank and your plans were to drop the fish in a larger tank, say a 120 and up then that would be a different story, that might work because it so happens it is working for me right now, but that can change tomorrow.

Forget the interaction between the two of them, I see the biggest problem being that at that size they are already too big for a 75. I know its annoying to hear this, but I hate seeing a pacing swimmer like a naso in a four foot tank. Why not a nice tough dwarf angel, or another small yet fiesty tang, so it doesnt have to be crammed up while you do your upgrade.

I think the agression of these two fish will be intensifyed by the small tank conditions for these mature fish. How about a nice 3"inch tough tang and/or angel. Im sure you could get some good suggestions from some ppl on here.

A Naso and a angel grow fast quick, givin the correct diet. I purchased a small naso about 2 inches back in late July. I put him in a 120, today he is 7 inches, that is only 5 months and is now starting to bother other fish.

BTW, how big is the trigger and lionfish? Are they big? Why do the fish have to be 6 to 7" and not 3 to 4"?

the only problem with the demensions are that he came by my house and measured. I showed him the spot where i want to put it, the spot is 6 ft long, the only thing i dont know yet is the depth (it is goin into a wall and he has to drill a small hole to c how much space he has from wall to wall and the height can range from 24-36 inches. He is drawing me up a few 3-d pictures of a few different sizes tank, once he can come over and drill a hole. He will show the pictures and i will put which tank i like better. The person who is doin this for me said that he doesnt know how far back he has to place the tank until he makes the hole. So like i said when he comes over in a few weeks with the pictures of a few different size tanks I will pick one and let u guys know.
