the trigger and the lion will not kill each other and lionfish will be fine in a 75 gallon b.c they dont swim.

Since Lion fish are slow swimmers they make easy target for Trigger and Eels. As for the Lion fish being fine in a 75gal tank, well Lion fish get very large and regardless if they aren't active swimmers like Angels or Tangs they need space and a 75gal is too small.

I agree you should wait for the new tank to be set up before you start thinking about new additions. What size is the new tank?

I have six large angels living in a 120G together, doing fine. Granted I do feed them alot, a little chase now and then, but doing fine. It might work for some and not others.

I do agree with waiting for the larger tank, though...

Having 6 large Angel in a 120gal tank is not a receipt for long term success. Once these Angels start to grow and get large, and remember most get anywhere from 1'-1 1/2', you'll have problems.

I am not new to angels, I know angels very well, you might be right about the long term success, however I do have multiple large tanks I can divide them if needed. I can actually give a 120G to each angel if I wanted to. I know someone who grew a Koran Angel in a 55G from 2" to 12" for about 10 years. I myself had kept angels for about 10 years. To be honest I don't think many people in this hobby has a big enough tank for a large angel, you would need a 1000G+ Tank...

If you plan to keep your fish they way they are now and you really want a angel. I think a Passer Angel would be fine and hold it's own. No matter how you look at it, these fish all get big, except for the pygmy stuff...

Or even a Queen Angel. No Majestic...

see the only reason ppl tell me to go with an angel ( i spoke to a bunch a actual stores like that fish place, drs. fosters and smith) b.c all angels only grow about 2 inches a yr in the wild, so they will grow even slower in a aquarium. They also told me to go with a large naso tang b.c it can hold its own too.

I don't know about the 2" per year thing because right now I have a Koran that I actually got from a member here when he was about 2" big and he is hitting about 6" now and I only had him for about 6 months now, but I do feed all my fish alot and all types of different stuff, that could be why...

As far as the Naso, yes they will hold there own, however they like to swim alot, you will need to make sure he has swimming room. I have 2 and they have the tank completely open to swim and they are pretty hardy.

Listen, if you plan on an upgrade in a few days, weeks or months why not just wait. It is one less worry for you and one less fish to have to worry about making the transition.

Most fish grow very fast in the beginning then grow slower over time. If given the correct diet and good water condition a fish can easily go from 2" to 6"-8" in a year.

I totally agree with you M. Listen to chief he is right and wait until the new tank is set up. BTW, what size tank did you get?, you said you bought it already. You have not said what size it is...

A Passer is a very aggressive fish and even in large tanks can becoming a real problem. The only positive thing about them is that do stay some what small. So if you plan on getting one it will have an effect on what you plan on having in the future, so you need to take that into account.

Other alternatives is getting a Flame Angel. It's pretty hardy and doesn't get to large. You may also want to look at the Kole type Tangs as they should be fine in a tank that size. Also look at Puffer fish and some of the Hogfish. Remember it's only a 75gal tank, which as a reef tank is a good size tank but as a fish tank, which fish that get large, it's small.

This is totally correct because the Passer will try to kill anything after that!!!
