I definately thought that a shipment later in the week would be better for buisness, that way they are fully stocked on the weekend. On the other hand with a monday shipment, you know that the fish you see there on the weekend have weathered the stress from shipping.

True, that's almost like QTing to wean off the weak ones so the weekend customer buys the stronger fish that survived the shipping. That hurts the bottom line for him to have more die off in the store and holding the fish for 3-4 days.

Hello MR members. Sorry for the late reply. I wanted to get confirmation on this coming Mondays shipment before I post. I will be credited back all the fish that was lost that day. We had a field day with US wildlife inspectors on Mondays shipment due a protected fish that was listed on the invoice. Turns out the fish was never in the box and the fish species on the invoice was a typo. We ended up waiting 12 hours for them to release the packages. 12hr wait + the 17 or so hour flight = DOA (Dead On Arrival). Once again our apologies for the late reply. We should be getting in about 80 or so tangs on Monday. (Tomini, Clown, Blue, Powder, Brown, etc.... )All of the tangs didn't make this shipment... Matt, thanks for your posts! I'll keep that in mind Pierce...

Wow that sucks. But in all fairness, given what just happened, wouldn't it be a better idea to order less tangs? 80 tangs is alot especially when those were the ones that suffered the greatest. Best of luck on this shipment, that was a stupid mistake on your supplier's part!

You guys should see all the dead fish arriving at LAX daily . This is part of the trade, we are all guilty by participating in the hobby.

Not the LFS's fault at all, I am sure he didn't want to spend all day at the airport because some person in Indonesia made a typo.
