Just got back and ended up giving in to temptation......
After giving the new digs my once over (and loving it)
I had them gather up my test kits and pods.
While they were scrounging for the kits, I fell in love with a nice Loby they had and caved!:thrash::redface:
I overheard.... New fish in tomorrow.......
Nice place- EXCELLENT prices-will be visiting a lot more in the future.
Thanks Coral Factory!

Stopped by Sea Vision today to check it out and was very impressed.
The store was nicely setup and had a cozy feeling to it. I was helped by cornell who was very nice and helpful. Prices were great compared to Manhattan. I left with several items and will definetly be visitng them again.

I will NOT be returning to this store= bad service.

I went - bought a ton of stuff- was buying a glass cleaner for my FW tank- and they sold me on a new one for my SW tank- saying it was better than the one I had- It seemed like that one didnt float- I asked about it- and they convinced me that the glass cleaner floated. I get home - tried it out- doesnt float- sank right to the bottom!!! and is not better than the one I had. so I immedately took it out and put it back in the box.

I brought it back today hoping for a store credit- THEY WOULD NOT TAKE IT BACK. reasoning- since I used it.

So stuck with a $21 sinking glass cleaner -I went to a different fish store (that treats me very well) and spent $150 bucks on stuff.

be careful some people around here might blame you and give kudos to the store.

did you have a receipt? what brand was it? Every store has its own store policy....... i think you should've asked more detailed questions and ask the sales person if it was ok to bring it back if it wasnt what you were hoping for. Just my 2 cents...

I am not saying that the store didnt have "the right" to not take it back- (ya cant find out if floats or not, without putting it in water) So I just dont think it is a good policy to KEEP a customer.

???? interesting thought

I told them, I didnt want it if it doesnt float, I asked if it floated,
they said yes, it floats.
I said are you sure? there is a string on it.
they then told me I was being silly, all float.

I guess you could blame me for believing them.
And I guess people could give kudos to a store... for making a sale....

People are welcome to do whatever they like with the info.

$21 it cleans your glass so what you tested it out and yours is better how many guys buy new skimmers and find out the old one was better or other stuff No big deal Do your research and dont trash a store that does not take back a used Glass Cleaner not there fault if he thinks it works better.

I Think My Remora Skimmer is the best hang on skimmer other guys say seaclown or Bak Pak thats the persons opinion to say that glass cleaner is better.

I Went to a Store once and they sold me a half bleached Coral Thats something bad to sell someone that does not know anthing about corals.

So pretty much the employee of the store lied to you, you bought something and when you found out he lied and or he was wrong you brought it back and explained it to them and they would not take it back?I would trash the hell out of a store for having uneducated liars working for them.

But they promised it would do something that it doesn't. Not something subjective like "my skimmer is best". It doesn't float. They said it would. Simple mistake...it's their fault and should accept the return.

The store selling bleached corals should accept a return as well...they're both wrong...thing is, if they get a glass cleaner wrong and not make it right would they do something like sell a half bleached coral and not make that right either?

I wouldnt mind if it just a matter of it not being that great of a product- my issue is that I asked a specific question about functionality of the product- and I was sold what I was clear about not wanting.

I asked the sales person and the manager about the product. And it was the manager who decided to not take it back because I had put it in water.

They have that right. I am not saying they do not have that legal right. All of the other shops that I go to offer that service. It is a matter of customer service and it would not cost them anything.

I would rather shop at other stores who are more generous and are more knowledgeable.

Sarah, you apparently spoke to someone there that did not know what they were talking about. Rich does have new people that don't know to much. I speak to Parnell when I have questions. I don't know who you spoke with, I would definitely speak to the owner (Rich). He should make this right. And if he doesn't then I would report that here too.
Rich, if your reading this? You need to set this write. Your sales person goofed.
Sarah, what does the package say? Did the sales person read the package?

I purchased a magnet glass cleaner/thermometer from Premium Aquatics that I thought floated simply because I didn't read all of the info on the package. I read as far as "You'll never get your hands wet", guess what? It doesn't float, it sinks in an upright position. And if I had a BB tank then I could just let it find it's way back to the other piece. So when it comes apart I have to stick my hand in to retrieve it cause I don't want the darn thing picking up sand on it's way.
And of course it is every individuals prerogative to shop whereever they please. I have reported negatively against certain places on this board some have agreed with me, and others have disagreed. That is live. I don't hold it against anyone that has a difference of opinion with me. Besides, if the place is that bad eventually others will see it as well.
And I would hope that as we grow older we become wiser, and realize that not everyone has to agree with us.
Also, as old as I am I still remember that it was as a child that if any friend had an issue with another we had to choose sides. But we are adults now. For the most part any way, we do have some children here(and I mean children[minors]).
Best of luck Sarah, my magnet was $40, at least is good at cleaning glass & it is an easy to read thermometer.

Hello Sarah and Kevin...

This is Richard from SeaVision Inc. I recall the day you came in and purchased the Tunze magnet float a month ago. I would like to set straight, if you came the next day after the purchase with the receipt, a full credit would have been given to you. I do remember suggesting the Tunze magnet to you as opposed to paying $15.00 for a magfloat. You asked me which magnet was better, and I suggested that they are both good but the Tunze magnet float is a little better due to a more powerful magnet and more surface area coverage. Not to mention a reputable name brand. (Made in Germany)

The question of the magnet being able to float never came up. I'm not saying he said, she said... just don't post erroneous information on this board. You came in yesterday asking for a return with no receipt a month later asking for store credit? I believe my employee did the right thing telling you that without a receipt or proof of purchase, a return is not possible. Sarah and Kevin, no disrespect... There is no need to lie. I know you remember walking in here a month ago talking with me, Sharn, and kenny from MR when you bought that item. I agree that another LFS is better for you guys.
