What if I use the Mag 12 as the return and also supplying the gfo and carbon reactors with valves controlling the flow? Would that make sense? What do you think?

I feed my reactors with the downdraft. I created a manifold that splits the water flowing into the sump, this way I can control how much water each reactor gets and I don't use electricity to power them.

That is a great f@#%in idea. Just looked at your youtube video so that bulb valve after the T controls your flow to the left side of the skimmer.

PAR Readings

I broke out the PAR meter today to take some readings, here are my results with two 8 month old 250 watt Phoenix 14K metal halides and two 8 month old ATI Blue Plus 54 watt T5's.

The PO4 is down from 0.65 to 0.13 after one week. I performed a 20 gallon water change, added live sand, new GFO and ROX 0.8 carbon, and made sure my skimmer is cleaned daily. The nitrates are still hovering at 50, until I get them down to 10 or below the lights will stay off so that I do not have another hair algae bloom. I also have three different macroalgaes coming on Tuesday for my refugium.

Try using Chaetomorpha em Mangrooves. They help a lot on reducing NO3 and PO4
