I will borrow my neighbors DSLR this weekend. I won a few rainbow acans as well as a dendro off of eBay yesterday, I have been looking for a dendro for a long time. I won't be adding anymore corals after this as I will have filled all the available spots in the lower lighting levels. The SPS list is still the same as above, everything is doing well, growing and coloring up. I am seeing coralline algae popping up throughout the tank so hopefully by February the rocks will be fully covered. I did add a few wrasses to the mix.

Bare bottom here, and mine seems to be holding up just fine without the sand. :goldfish2

I made my own food. I purchased mussels, clams, shrimp, and fish roe from the asian super market and I use spinach for the veggie portion as it is much more nutritious than nori.

Im setting up a same exact size sps tank with preetty much same sump set up. The only difference is I got a 40 breeder as a sump and instead of a phosban reactor I use a BRS GFO and a Carbon reactor. Are you satisfied with your Mag 9.5 return pump? Is it enough? I was thinking about the 12.

I had the Mag 12 in my previous build and now I use the 9.5 on this build, it is plenty of flow with two Vortech's. You don't need a lot of turnover through the sump, you want to accomplish lost of water movement within the tank via powerheads.

Good protein skimmer and barebottom to allow lots of water flow and prevention of detritus buildup.
