They all look the same to me, but perhaps to the "trained eye"...........

From the group shot:

Top Left = Oregon Mummy Eye #1
Top Right = Meng's Mummy Eye
Botton Left = Cornbred Trash Mummy Eye
Bottom Right = Oregon Mummy Eye #2

There basically all the same and it's hard to tell when purchased as a small frag. Now that they are small colonies, the difference is obvious - there is none. I believe they are all Oregon Mummy Eye's...

Yo, Macropora.

This is some DOPE setup! This is EXACTLY the type of clams and corals I'm lookin to get set up. Just getting ideas right now, but I'm lovin' it!

Do you think a 300 gal is too big for my midtown apt?

PEACE,
JL

Hi Corlos, Whats going on with the new frag tank?

The basement frag tank is up and running for a couple of months now. I have it connected to the 120 gallon so far and will hook it up to the 270 gallon when I have some time. I moved alot of the chalice and acan frags into the basement frag tank and dismantled the 15 gallon frag tank. Will shot some pics at a later date. Thanks for asking.

John,

I've had the 270 gallon set up for about 8 years now and it sits on a concrete foundation. I'm down to one Purple Mantle Gigas which is about 20" long now and some of the corals have been with me longer. Check with your landlord to see if the floor is structurally sound to support the weight of the tank. Your looking at about 3000 lbs or more depending on what else goes in there. Thanks for admiring my tank and nice to know a celebrity is on the forum!!! Good luck!

What lights are u using? All I have are 175W 10KK MH, with a leds lights in the center. I was thinking about taking out the LEDs n adding actinic because i was getting any coloring on the frags, but now I'm thinking the leds are too strong.

that is one huge clam, nice setup you got going their.

Thanks! I haven't done much with the tank lately, other than letting the caulerpa grow. The blue/purple mantle clam is about 20 - 22" long. One of a kind. Unfortunately gigas clams are hard to come by nowadays...

Here are some updated pics of my 270 gallon tank. I replaced the 2 Lumenarc hoods (with 250 watt Radium bulbs) for 3 Evolution 120 watt LED units. At first I thought there would be problems with the clam adapting to the new lights, but it's been a month now with no issues. Saving 140 watts of electricity every month and less run time on the chiller. Enjoy!

Hey Carlos, how about a pic of the frag tank?

Here you go Harry. The 30 gallon basement frag tank (45"L x 24"W x8"H) with 50 gallon sump has been set up for about 4 months now and is connected to the 120 gallon. The 270 gallon was seperated when I setup the basement frag tank. I moved all of the acans (50+) as well as many of the chalices I had in the 120 gallon into this tank. The frag tank is lit with a Maxspect 110 watt LED unit on a Light rail for 7 hours every night. It's been a real pain to keep the calcium and alkalinity levels up with a doser. I might go back to my ProCal if it continues...
