joe-
three weeks now? both house and slama gave me the OK so I think it will be alright- its about 10" max from my PCs and its not a baby anymore so I have been told doesn't need as intense lighting (I am watching it closely though- I was hesitant to get it at first). Seems pretty healthy as of now though!

Final pic of the night! Full tank shot actinic- as good of a pic as I could get w/ my old Olympus C-2100! I think things are finally looking the way I want them to- trimming the Xenia and Anthelia really cleared up the tank and made things look more open. I think the fan worm really fills in the gap up there, hopefully will be adding a cocoa worm at some point in the future if I can find one. Sadly w/ this small of a tank my new additions will be limited (well, almost...new acan and maybe some zoo frags still to come)- probably will add a blood shrimp or two and thats it. At least until a future upgrade (I'm thinking 37g Oceanic semi cube- similar footprint to my tank and 2X the vol!). Until then I will keep on keepin on..

your tank really is coming along bro, good stuff...how about a couple steps back FTS?:)

BTW Clams when they are SMALL can survive w/o intense light,
Over 3 inches and it needs alot more PAR to keep it happy as it becomes very reliant on light.

Keep an eye on it, not even my GF (forever newbie) will buy the lil clams she loves until, which she said herself to me:), I get at least VHO. If it starts to gape, or start knocking around it might want more light. Especially since youve got a blue crocea one of the most light demanding of the clams.

anyways how about that pic?:D

keeping an eye on the clam- seems to be happy so far under the PC's but then again not too far away from them either.

FTS to come- my tank is in front of my bed so unless I lay down on it is hard to take one from a few feet back...nice to look at while going to sleep though!

Thanks!

I have been pretty bad at doing water changes lately (i have been really busy)- but I was on a schedule of 10% a week (or around 2 gals). I run carbon now and w/ my skimmer, clam, cleaning crew, and xenia filtering everythign my water parameters have been nice and stable.

I do dose some trace elements 1x a week to make up for the lack of water changing lately- soon to start up on that again this weekend though!

As DRZL said you have it backwards, Juvenile's dont require high light. Croceas require the highest lighting of all tridacnidae clams.
IMO, it wont survive long under PC lighting. Most likely its starting to suffer from malnutrition now, they die a slow death. It needs stronger light or a new home, JMO.
Anyway, Good Luck!

No new picks as of yet- nothing much as changed, besides Anthelia starting to take over again! Going to sell the brain- its getting stung on both sides by a large green shroom and frogspawn- hopefully will find a nice small red brain...

I'm not too worried about the clam- yet anyway - it has had some great new shell growth since I got it from SlamaJama, is not 'gaping' in anyway, and generally looks healthy- I also dose w/ Phyto twice a week. Plus I am planning on getting the Sunpod 150w MH fixture at some point in the next few months. Probably going to go w/ 20k as I don't want anything of higher intensity in my 16g.

Thanks for the compliments- if I make any changes I will update with some pics!

I think you can get it at New World on 38th between 2nd and 3rd.

I love this tank (though i would really love something bigger...) for the city- shouldn't be toooo much of a pain to move, and doesn't take up much space.

If I were to start again though, I would probably go with a 30g Oceanic - nearly same footprint and almost 2x the gallons= more space for frags (though probably 2x the cost as well after LR, etc.)!!!
