They are doing much better than I expected. They all eat cyclopeeze and half eat frozen mysis as well. I have a buch so I'm hoping to grow them out and offer them for free on the board. If all of them are not claimed Maritime Aquarium said that they would be willing to take as many butterflyfish as they can get. I'd also keep one for myself :splitspin

I have a 120 they can grow up in :)

This is not the thread for that discussion George. This thread is a discussion of my tank and associated questions. I know what your thinking but I'd prefer to keep that discussion out of this thread. :)

It is illegal to keep 1" seabass or fluke in a million gallon tank.

Dom,
I missed the pics u posted yesterday.
Tank inhabitants look good especially eating cyclepeeze.
My fish go nuts for those.

Whats the type of spiked puffer fish is that in ur pics?
Eating cyclopeeze.
I always wondered what puffers ate other than chicken. heheheheh.

Sorry! I didn't mean to mis-inform. The puffers are not eating cyclopeeze. Right now they are eating mysis shrimp and live grass shrimp. The puffers are Spiney Box Puffers or Striped Burrfish.

I was gonna saw wow. I've only seen 2 types of puffers from the atlantic ocean. Northern Puffers and Spiny box. Must be more out there that havent tried to eat the chicken on traps.

As for the starfish u have, what is that called?
They seem to be everywhere and even get caught on my fishing line.

Dom what about those breeder nets for the babies. I have one if you wanna try it for next time.

I thought of that so I bought two but the problem is keeping the seahorses from sucking in air (although debated) at the surface so a system is needed that prevents them from staying at the top too long especially when first born. Thanks for the offer though!

I just need to master the overflow situation. I have backup Kreisel bowls I got from asianer that I can use if the babies are born before I think of something.

Hmmmmm. Actually you may be onto something there. I wonder if I can use that idea in my sump and create a way to feed them. You have me thinking now.....

That may just work. I'd have to custom make a net maybe using eggcrate and screen. I think I am going to try that George. That also allows me to put the pregnant male in the sump until he gives birth and remove him afterwards.
