Seahorse & Pipefish Haven Part II

Seahorse released little ponies today. It seemed to be a bad batch or maybe the male seahorse released them too early because of stress (I moved him into a seperate fuge for easy gathering of the fry). I seperated the fry early this morning anyway. We'll see what they look like later tonight.

Ahhhh Finally I caught one of the males releasing fry. I collected about 40-50 fry today and put them in asianer's (Andrew) DIY Kreisel system. So far it is working like a charm. I'll post some pics a little after 10AM. Hopefully this time I'll be able to rear some.

Great job Dom, do you have anything pushing down from the top of the Kresiel bowl though? You might want to try a HOB filter or run a line from a skimmer or something to create tension on the top so that they don't float. The bubbles from the sides look like the perfect size - lmk if you need help with anything; looks like a healthy batch of fry!!

I have a MJ1200 feeding the bowl (you can see the tubing at the top of the bowl). The line has a control valve borrowed from a Phosban reactor. Seems like most of the fry are healthy. 3-4 died which happens to be the exact amount I pulled from my sump :scratch:

It looks like I ended up with about 20 healthy Fry. It took a day or so but the Kreisel Bowl is loaded with pods from my main tank. I've been adding BBS but haven't had the time to watch and see if the fry can eat them. I have rotifers coming in tomorrow so they will also be added as a food source. Hopefully I get lucky this time.

It's spotted seahare. It doesn't eat caulerpa unfortunately (I wa hoping it would). It eats red macros and ulva.

Looking good Dom.. "The best" looks even better, now I wish I hadn't taken it out of the display tank,,lol..
