NP, try the 14k Coralvue bulb 250 watts, thats what I use and its a little more blue than the 12, you still have a nice bulb in there tho, so let it rock for another 6 months.:splitspin

Hey Rick. I didn't know you could mod the 6025's. Do you have a link with info? I want to try the mp10 because of the low profile. If it sucks you'll see it on ebay :)

im sorry you had to have said this a million times so far but theres alot in this thread to keep up with:splitspin ... how do u keep your phosphates so low? was it the no fish thing? and im going to be setting up a nano at my school... do you think you would be able to help me get on a dosing schedule like you are? ive had a reef in the past but it was just ok, now that im doing a nano i want to really get into it and make it work so any help i can get will go greath lengths for me, and plus from what i have seen it looks like your the nano god and your tank is your gift to us reef keepers

Aaron, you know which one that is ;)

Pierce, do you see the green toadstool in the back? That is the one from you. I just pulled it out in the front today. I didn't realize how large it got back there. The head is about 6" now. I thought you were coming back to NY for a while. If so give me a call, still the same #.

Breezp, thank you for the kind words. As for keeping the phosphates low, the skimmer is key. I have a deltec MCE 600 running on this tank. It is rated for a tank almost 200gals. In all reality this skimmer barely keeps up with this reef (I still use phosban at times if I see an increase in diatoms). This is the problem with all skimmers IMO. The ratings are much higher than what they're actually capable of skimming.
For a dosing schedule you won't have to worry until you get your tank stocked. There is really no easy way to determine how much you need to dose besides testing your alk, cal, and mag to determine how much must be added to keep desired levels. Eventually you reach a maintenance dosing level and only need to test occasionally. I am dosing 30mls of each part daily now. Keep in mind dosing alk raises you salinity so you must dilute your water sometimes.

Thanks Mark:)

Breezp, I'm not sure what you'll be able to fit on a BC 14. I'll look into it. Don't get the tunze though. It is a piece of carp!

This is the end of this thread. I ordered a 34 gal solana and will transfer everything over next week. This small upgrade will buy me some time before corals start touching.
