During the skimmer build, newbies did as newbies like to do... got in the way and caused problems

Brett, this is the most recent pic I have. I fragged the hell out of my tank today, and picked up a few straggelers, so there would be some variations from this pic to what it looks like today. Matt, ygpm.

I'm glad you finally got around to your basement. :)
That is a sump / skimmer setup worthy of you. You need to post up some more pics. I love the shot showing all the tubing, very clean. Also, having seen that skimmer in person I must say those pics do not do it justice. You've got to show the internal parts of that skimmer, that's what makes it such a beast!

Come on Fred... I can't give away all my secrets. It is true though. The guts are a lot sexier than the shell.
Keep in mind that I do not have access to a CNC machine. The skimmer was built by hand with routers and dremmels. To make matters worse my table saw crapped out, so the sump and skimmer were built with a circular saw, straight edges and wood clamps. There are some imperfections to fix. I was sent the wrong O-rings, so I have to make due for the time being with gaskets, which I don't like very much.
Jim, the design is very efficient. It doesn't need much water. Tee'd off of my main pump, I'm able to draw 25LPM per beckett. That is 50 LPM for free. Problem is, it was a full blown foam cannon at that air draw and it burped a lot. I would have to make a couple of minor modifications to make that work. I dialed it back to 12.5 LPM each.
The foam shots are after only 24 hours of the skimmer being hooked up.
I blew past the max LPM of my air flow meters when it was ran off of a dedicate pump.
It's no Bar Aquatic, but it is by far the best skimmer I ever had.

here's a little ingenuity... I don't know if you were able to see it in the other pics, but I finally found a use for my ETSS skimmer. I bought some fittings and a ping pong ball and converted the body into my waste collection cup. The thing was a total POS, so I'm just glad I found a useful purpose for it. I open up the valve to drain it.
Excuse my electric outlet... I broke the plate, which reminds me, I need to go get another one.
