oh yea? She said his mouth looked beat up but I wasn't sure if that was from being stuck to the overflow or fighting... it makes sense... they were chasing each other around, it was one of the bigger ones that died and they all were healthy (zipping around the tank and eating)

I guess I don't feel so bad then. My serpent star is lovin me I'm sure (in the sump)

I've read it's better to keep them in odd numbers so I'm going to get another... should I get a larger one or smaller?

I wouldn't bother getting anymore from my experience and others I had 7 and after a while there was only one left. Same thing happened to a friend of mine. They will kill each other until the last mans standing.

My wife found one of our 5 blue green chromis against the overflow when she got home :( :dead1: I thought I was good since they've been in the tank for 2 weeks and I figured acclimated by now... weird. The other 4 she said are doing fine and eating like they always do. I've read they don't acclimate well and dying when they're first introduced is common, besides, the biggest one is only about an inch.

that sucks.... i had recently bought another 4 to add to the 3 i had and they all schooling together and playing nice...... they are awesome when there schooling..

lol, thanks for the motivating words Steveo! Have you ever had a problem with your chromis Tony? I was going to buy a few more today but I already have a lot of fish in the tank as it is.

I got my Oceanpods tonight, very well packaged and they seemed to do well with the shipping. Hopefully they multiply fast in the tank.

Does anyone know if there is a way I could get dried acrylic glue off of the sides of the tank? I probably should've taken care of this before I put water in but its starting to bother me. I do have that acrylic scratch removal kit but I'd rather not use it if I don't need to.

Some new pics from tonight

Also... one other dilemma while I'm at it...

I have a pin point PH probe on my ReefKeeper2 that I've had for a year and 1/2. I calibrated it when I got it and haven't touched it since. I just use it to monitor... not control

I decided to add some calibration fluid to my order at Marine Depot... The PH was reading 8.45 before calibration... after calibration it's stuck on 7.93... I pull out my Salifert PH test and it tests at ~8.3. I'm going to give the probe another day to see if it decides to move up else I'll try calibrating it again, if that doesn't work I'll get a new probe. I guess I shouldn't have touched it.

acrylic glue off of an acrylic tank?? good luck. if it's on the inside of the tank i don't believe it will come off unless you empty the tank and remove it but i could be wrong.

maybe someone will acrylic expertice can chime in. i agree those anthias look HOT!

I tried emailing SoCalCreations... still waiting for a response.

The anthias and the mandarins were from Greenwich Aquaria. Amazing store throughout. They eat like pigs... I hope to be able to keep up with the feeding regimen.

The Mandarins were doing the :bunnies:  again tonight, I turned away a second... then saw hundreds of eggs floating around the tank. Pretty Awesome... 5 seconds later they were all eatin by the other fish.

I setup a little tupperware container hidden in the back away from the current. They've learned in 2 days that's where their frozen food goes. Now as soon as the pumps turn off they make their way right next to the container waiting for the food to be delivered. Smart little fish.

I can't wait for my water quality to improve a bit so my corals start coming out a bit more. My Green Stag, Monti Cap, Stylo and One of my Monti Dig. look great... the rest are still pretty closed up. Most of the LPS stays pretty closed, at night all the feeders are out.

My wife and I are headed up to Mohegan Sun for the weekend... hope I come back to a happy tank.

First, sorry for the lack of updating my thread. I was in the middle of a small crisis I'm sure most of you read. Summary was that I believed my Eibli Angel and 3 Anthias had come down with ich. I had to clear the tank to catch them and I setup a 30g long to QT them. They were fine in QT for about a week and 1/2 when I thought I saw ich again. I started treatment and a day later they all unfortunately went to the big fish tank in the sky. I believe it was a combination of a lot of things which caused the death. First being that the heater died the same night I began treatment and the temp dropped to 66 in the tank, then the lack of O2 in the tank may have sufficated them... then possibly an ammonia spike. So, unfortunately I've lost this one.

Good news is that all of the fish in the DT are doing great. It's been 3 weeks since the first "ich" sighting (it may not have been, who knows) but all of the fish in the tank don't show any irregularities.

Mandarins have spawned about 5 times since the last post and my POD population has been excellent since I've been dosing Reef Nutrition Phyto every night. The pods actually made it easy on me... I have a micron filter sock submerged on my skimmer output which they all seem to love collecting on them. Every 2 weeks when I need to change the sock out I just shake it out in the DT. Thousands of them fell into the tank, so that was good news.

To the pictures:

Our unique "Nemo" his dorsal fin has always been like that... any ideas? We've had him for about 3yrs now.

We had another spawn tonight from the Mandarins. This time I got some pictures.

She actually released eggs three seperate times within a 10 minute period. The chromis were right in there crampin their style so I'm not sure if she would've released all at one time or if that's normal.

Some other pics first:

This is a fossilized clam shell I picked up at my LFS a while ago
