Your tank is very beautiful. Your corals looks so healthy, but why not so much coraline algae coverage?
I love the aquascape you have. I think your neon dottyback is pretty. I have a purple dotty back, it is a little agreesive, beats up other fishes that are similar shaped. I hope you find a good place for the neon. don't put it in your refugium, it will clean up the shrimps and pods in there.
When you up-grade, dibs on your tank. IT is gorgeous.
Thanks guys. No coraline algea because the tank is only a week old... give it time! I also used base rock for 50% of the rock so that's another reason the tank looks a little white.
Corals aren't actually that healthy yet... lots of tissue recession... almost lost my green stag at the top, hopefully that will bounce back. Corals don't like being touched and moved around from tank to tank. I think in a few weeks it should be back to normal.
haha, I think I do too Nice meeting you today. I ended up getting talked into a pair of Green Mandarin's too. They're supposedly on Frozen food, we'll see what happens. The anthias are beautiful.
I was so happy to see both of the mandarins devouring the Sally's Frozen Mysis tonight, it was the first time I've seen them really go after the food. I have 5 bottles of ocean pods coming tomorrow to bump up the levels in the tank so they have their natural diet to feast on.
I took a few more pics tonight. Can anyone explain what they're actually doing? I just noticed it a few minutes ago and snapped some shots. It almost looks like they're holding on to each other and swimming around the open part of the tank together? I also saw the male put up his dorsal fin for the first time tonight.
Exactly! I saw it too. He also posted a video too. I think he is the same guy who has green banded gobies mating in his pico tank. If I remember correctly, he got bunch of species mating in his systems.
My wife found one of our 5 blue green chromis against the overflow when she got home :dead1: I thought I was good since they've been in the tank for 2 weeks and I figured acclimated by now... weird. The other 4 she said are doing fine and eating like they always do. I've read they don't acclimate well and dying when they're first introduced is common, besides, the biggest one is only about an inch.
