Thanks guys. I'm just getting to know my camera settings. I didn't do any proscessing on those pictures other than a resize.

Just curious, is the white balance off on 3,4, and 5, or you used some other sort of lighting combo? Based on the lights i see, that's one bright ass tank. Pic 3,4,5 looks like a sundown pic. Are there any moonlight on the tank? I really like the way they look, gives it a feel of peacefulness. But the color is throwing me off, based on the overall look of the tank.

Don't be stingy. keep posting more!

Can't speak to the camera issues, but the lighting is 4 250 DE Phoenix 14K lamps on Icecap ballasts and in Icecap pendants. Nothing changed from shot to shot other than BC's machinations.

Pedro. I finally got around to getting an 18% grey card for white balancing. But I forgot it at home yesterday.

So I WB bracketed the shots in camera. I'm pretty sure they're +/- 2 blue-amber. I was trying to get rid of some of the blue.

Next time I shoot the tank I'm going to remember the wb card!

I kinda figured something looked weird.

But i tell you what, i like the shots. They look like a reef scene at sundown. Doesn't look like it even came from that tank.

I really like the color of those lamps. If i ever go DE that's the direction i'm heading. What were you running on the prior tank?

SE Reeflux 10K w/ actinic VHO. Quite liked them too. I think ambient room light plays a big role in how we perceive these lamps. The same setup on my 125 in another room closer to the windows looks really different and not as nice IMO.

It is a new calcium carbonate sand that will be available through ESV shortly. It is very nice and very white.
