David if you ever get sick of the 10k I have a 14k megachrome bulb that you can try(brand new). It's more like a 12k spectrum. Borrow it or I would trade for a cool zoo or acan :)
I just ordered a 14k Ushio. I like a little blue in the spectrum. This 20k EVC that I'm running now looks ok but it's very difficult to take pics without them becoming saturated blue.

BTW I will be setting up the same tank soon. :)

Thanks! I am really loving the 10K look. At first I wasn't thrilled coming from a 20K ... but a week in, I am definitely happy with it. :)

Working on it!!! :D

I got a new female Flame Wrasse to pair up with my male. So far so good!

Nice! I'm definitely jealous of your wrasse collection. I'm looking to add one or two, but I am a complete noob with wrasses... LOL

Definitely! I have been wanting to try the Giesemann bulbs actually.
If memory serves me correctly you had a 120 some time ago, was that MH with VHO's? Which bulbs were you running? I miss the VHO's that I had over my 120.

I remember seeing a lecture given by Tony Vargas up at House of Fins back in 2011 ... He had a trio of Flame Wrasses in a little 25G and they were getting it on. :bunnies: You could easily get a harem into your tank! :D

Yep. Originally I was running 2x250w PFO mini DE Pendants with 3 VHO actinics. I was using 10k ushio/BLV. After seeing Tony Acropora's 400 gallon lit by 400w reeflux, I switched over. 2x 400w Reeflux 10k in luminarc reflectors with 3 VHO actinics. These bulbs were awesome. They gave a crazy POP to blue SPS.

Just installed the Giesemann Megachrome 14K bulb. I actually really like the colors I am getting from it! Thanks Rich! :D

I'm glad that you like the color. It was a little overpowering in my smaller tank. It seems to blend better with the T5's in your tank.

After adjusting my eyes from the 20K to the 10K, I thought it was going to be a bit difficult to get used to but it's not horrible, but going back to this 14K which is definitely on the white side by comparison to say the Phoenix, it looks really nice. Not too blue not too yellow.

I really need to go and purchase new t-5's, these are definitely about to kick the bucket! lol.

I re-scaped the right side of my tank a bit ... decided to remove a larger piece of shelf rock for a nice piece of branch rock. :) Still trying to color up this Strawberry Shortcake acro ... I had it placed really high in the tank and it stayed brown, I lowered it quite a bit and some of the colors are starting to set in. Still has a LONG WAY to go.

Through the top of the tank this piece is sooooooo nice. Lime Green, no 'official' name but who cares. :)

Birdsnest and Stylo growing right into each other.

I posted an earlier picture of this on my thread ... I think it's Acropora Solitaryensis.

Ninja boi!!! You were suppose to keep that a secret! Wtf?! At least I didn't dose with you there. Lol.

You acro and poci already have ridiculous PE on them. I suggest you take my advice. ;-) look at it this way no need for use of the toilet.

nice update :) you need to trim the bird nest or get rid of it and put some millies or mini colonies in place of it :) I would say it would make the tank more interesting :)

Thanks buddy!
You know, I really have to agree with you. The birdsnest is taking up WAY too much room in this tank. I am thinking the Purple Stylo as well (maybe ...) Just redo that side of the tank altogether. Get some nicer pieces in there.
