lol thanks twan.. everything is going pretty smooth so tank should be up a few weeks after i move in

my next question that i was pondering.... can i pvc glue the barbed fitting to the pvc fitting instead of using teflon tape. i would feel more secure if i could glue them together where the return to the tank is... * not on the pump*

Whooooaaaaa slow down sparky! What are you talking about? A barbed fitting cannot be attached to pvc with teflon tape or glue!!!! The barbed fitting must go into flexible tubing >>> then a barbed x slip pvc fitting can be your transition.

Please don't try to glue or tape a barbed fitting to a rigid pvc pipe.

I'm jealous lol XD But I would watch out for the mystery wrasse, mine killed all my shrimps and ate them. There have been many many others who have lost more than just shrimps as well. Some say the mystery wrasse even killed their hermits.

lol, ok now that's much better. Just wrap the threads on the male end about 8-9 full revolutions of teflon tape. Then just tighten the two fittings together. This is done every day of the week, plumbers everywhere do it safely.
