Care to share the camera settings for pic #4?

exposure was 1/100 sec at f/5.0
iso was 320

the coral is on the far right side of the tank sticking out from the rocks, everything behind it is shadowed, that's how I got the background to separate.
I gave it a bit more contrast by boosting the dark channels in lightroom.

remember to keep things in focus your shutter speed should be at least as fast as the lens focal length your shooting with.
So I try to shoot the 90mm macro at 125/sec. that's why I prefer a shorter macro lens, if I used my 180mm macro I would have to bump the iso
to about 800 to compensate for the increase in shutter speed. At 800 with my camera I get way too much noise in the image.

You took it with a tripod right?

Will there be a big difference in exposure between 320 and 400 ISO? I think my camera only does standard ISOs up to 3200.

WOW, great shots. I need some photo lessons from you <G>. I have the Nikon D90 and the Tamron 90 macro, but my shots are nowhere your quality. I'll post some later that I took at the Birch Aquarium this past December.

I doubt you'd see a difference between 320 and 400, especially on screen or a small print.
