Before you all lynch anyone, how many of you had FW tanks and Oscars, Dempseys or the like before becomming SW saviors of all marine life? I am sure those that kept the larger Cichlids fed them goldfish every now and then. This is the same thing. It is what this creature eats in nature, and we are trying as best we can to mimick nature in order to keep a healthy tank. If it offends people to see nature at work, maybe those folks should give up keeping animals and move on to the plant keeping hobby. Oh, wait. The Venus flytrap eats those poor flys!
The only problem I see with feeding sea stars to the shrimp is stars are kind of spendy as far as feeder material goes!
Bill
I think feeding it a live starfish wud be better...its more natural and we try to mimic and achieve the most natural enviornment possible for our livestock....and like chief said the beach is the skimmer...that white soapy fuzz u see early in the morning at the beach is skimmate...nasty huh..since we swim in it...
which is the only reason he hasnt been eaten yet.Becareful with Deepwater....he is as ugly as it can get.....
