hey rick!

how about some rarer morphs of regular corals. ie. not just the purple and green frogspawns and hammers. also, it would be nice if you guys stocked a good amount of captive grown stuff.

congrats on the new position,

j.

thank you jon
i would say 95% of the sps are going to be captive grown or facility farmed corals. i also have a few surprises on hammers torches and frogspawns stay tuned. plus once they hit my system i am sure they are gonna morph into something different lol.

Since my tank is low-moderate light for the moment, my wishlist is:
-vivid colored mushrooms - discos & rics
- sun (tubastrea)
- blue polyp sea fan (acalycigorgia)

Thanks for asking and let me know what you have as I expect to begin stocking in a week or 2.

pretty much "+1 ing" the things everyone else has mentioned (especially acans and blastos :D)

I'd love to see some great rics and yumas too. Maybe you could keep a small stock of nice $10-20 frags, no crazy supercharged deepwater LE razzmatazz (that kind of stuff would obviously sell for more:duh:) But just some nice to look at, affordable corals so that those of us who are on a budget can still enjoy the hobby without living beyond our means (Student loans? What are you talking about Bank? I've never heard of such a thing! What do you mean I can't buy 8 scolys at $300 a pop?! What kind of trickery are you trying to pull here?! :theyareon) Drooling over the rare, expensive pieces never hurt anyone though ;).

I think it's great that you want to have something for everybody though, it's a sure fire way to run a successful business, and I wish you the best of luck. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you get in!

Is it too much to ask that you market your corals by experience level?

Beginner, Intermiate, experienced and advanced - might help all your patrons with less death and confusion - which makes for happier customers

I know it's our job to do our homework but it might make it easier

Honestly, i think its quite simple; acros. BUT no wild colonies. Same goes for a lot of the nicer corals. Wild chalices, especially the oxyphoras or whatever, very sensitive to the lighting changes and detritus burns a hold right through em if not mounted on a slant. If you really want to know what sells, you can PM me. As long as Im rewarded for it! :)

This is a pretty good idea. Corals by experience level could really make things easier for us noobs who want to go out an buy some wild colored, rare $300 coral that we probably aren;t ready for.

I just want to thank everyone for all of the input. Keep an eye out the next week or two for the corals and deals. One of the systems is almost complete just waiting on my lighting LEDS. the first batch is gonna be a mix of SPS, LPS & ZOO's i'm trying to keep everyone pleased with their coral addiction.

have a great weekend & keep cool
rick
