Snorkeling/Scuba diving in Cabo?

Has anyone here gone Snorkeling or Scuba diving in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico? A bunch of my friends and I are heading there this August and I would really love to do that. Any suggestions where to go?

None of us are experienced divers btw...

I just got back from Cabo. We did a 2 tank dive outside the marina. Got to see the sea lions, an eel, and some nice pocillopora heads. The water was EXTREMELY cold, visibility was terrible. Because of this, I don't recommend diving in Cabo.

i wonder if it makes a differance what time of year you go? i will be there in the middle of august...

I think the high temps only go to 70-72, still pretty cold.

Sure. I wore a 5-5 and my wife wore a 5-5 over a 3-3. We were still freezing, the water was about 62.

how deep were you diving? Man thats cold!

dude if you cant go to austrailia and you want the most for your $$$ then go to the island of Rotan off the coast of honduras. It is on the southern end of the reef in the carribean. beautiful i dove for 3 days at $25 a day. yeah that is american money. the island is a well kept secret off a pis poor country. OOPS 4 got no politcs lol. seriously it is $25 a day. the island is full of europeons and americans so you get a great vaction for half the price. most expensive past was the air. just a little further south of mexico

thats awesome- cabo is where i'm going though so no choice there!

it was a sweet deal- one of my friends married very very well and her parents are letting us use their place at this luxury resort for the week! 16 of us going to stay in these two penthouses for free! can't beat that!

still going to be expensive once we get there- drinks, fishing, diving, etc.- but worth it!

Fishing is excellent there. Go to all of the Mi Casa restaurants, they are all good.

Squid Roe is expensive and too loud.

Do the ATVs on the beach, lots of fun.

its funny - my freind just spoke to someone who went there last year...he said the fishing was terrible and the diving amazing! guess its all about the weather there at the time...
