Are salvage cars worth it?

Look my friend bought a salvaged 2004 clk500 the guy told him the frame in the front just need to be pulled and need new h frame . So he bring it to my shop I look at the car yes the frame need to be pulled out need a new H frame rack front engine cover and alot more and he payed 9k for it crashed so i had my guy pull the frame back to spec look like it was never hit now but the wire were piched in the frame had to fix the wiring and dreplace the sam module in the rear to make a long story short he spend about 15k to fix the car and it still has problem like abs and traction control . It wasnt worth the money to spend on a crash car he could of bought a used clk500 for the money he spend to fix the crash one.

Unfortunately it can be a crap shoot. Research and bringing it to a mechanic you trust can help, but you can't always forsee the problems that could come up. We happen to have had a good history with our salvaged cars. It also helps that we have been dealing with these guys for a good 12 years or so.
