As far as how much neoprene... A LOT! Go dry... it's the only way to dive! :)

This was a local wreck dive. Drysuit, 7mm hood, 5mm gloves, dual steel tanks. About 125lbs of equipment total. About 4-6 foot seas and 10 foot visibility that day. Once of the best dives of my life!

I have a 25 footer. I go out of Sayreville in NJ. I also dice and sperafish but they are 2 total different experiences. You can't drink all day if you are diving.

You've had luck at Ft. Totten jetty? I used to go there, but never, ever, caught anything...well, not counting a few 4" bergalls and a 12" striper....people were yelling at me for throwing it back! (Even though there was a DEC agent in the park with binoculars...) I've never even seen other's bring in a fish there. ( I've always been there late afternoon through dusk in late spring and in the fall.) While I love the view, it is a tough place to walk...I slipped and injured my leg once...took me months to fully recover. And all those rats! People used to bring bb guns to shoot the rats while they waited for a fish to bite. My son refuses to go back there...although I wouldn't mind trying it again. Last Sunday my son and I took the Angler out of Pt. Washington....they have a 3 pm Sunday trip. We fished off of Ft. Totten....only 6 of us on board...like a private charter. Great crew, great group of people...one of the most pleasant party boats I have fished on...the only problem was no fish...nobody even had so much as a runoff. Still, wasn't the crew's fault...it was one of those days, bad all over the area. I'm more than happy to try it again. Can't beat a 3 pm starting time! I hate getting up early.....they also have 7 pm trips Thurs-Sat, will add more when striper fishing gets better.
