i got banned from reef central

they are such jerks. i put up a for sale thread and i put a link to my myspace and they gave me an infraction then they gave me this infraction for posting my opinion and how i felt. they took away my private messaging privileges which then i couldnt contact the guy that gave me the infraction that his name is geo (and a computer "thug" i bet hes just mad cuz he was picked on all his life and taking it out on everyone by being a mods.) to ask him privately about why he infractioned me for it and he was a little harsh on taking away my privileges. but i had to start a thread to voice myself publicly cuz i couldnt contact him then next thing u know poof banned for my own honest and non insulting opinion but just asking him publicly to reinstate my pming priveleges. this is the only pm i copied wasnt the last pm he sent me and when i got banned the screen said "banned as u wished" and banned lift "never"

Sorry to hear about that Skimmerman ... but RC does have that reputation ... LOTS of people are banned for the stupidest of reasons (i think breathing incorrectly counts as one of them ... lol) ... that goes pretty much for all of the LARGE sites ... with many members ... they can't be nice to everyone. Makes you appreciate the fact that MR doesn't crack down on it's members unless it's really deserved.

RC use to be much more relaxed but that resulted in a lot of fights and such on the board. So they've basically taken a zero tolerance approach and will act quickly if you get out of line.

If everyone knows that the rules will be enforced it shouldn't be a problem, you just need to keep in line and play by the rules of the board.

Well put Marrone ... be thankful this site doesn't instill a minimum post count for selling ... or limits the amount of for sale threads ... EVERY either site does ... Nano-Reef ... R2R ... RC ... etc.etc.etc.
You can't just post "nice tank" or ... "Awesome stuff" ... and stupid posts like that to increase it ... they are watching you.

Everyone Please Read! No Commercial Selling! We here at R2R have seen an increase in coral selling by members trying to lead us to believe that they are regular hobbyist only and not commercial.

We want to make it clear that we do not mind our members selling corals and trading, but we are going to draw the line when we feel that the member is either working commercially or working for a commercial entity.

In many instances we may not be able to prove that someone is commercial, but we will judge in part on how long they have been a member, how active they have been on the forum (non selling), and what kind of quantity of coral said member is selling. We will then use our gut and the council of the mod staff to make a decision.
